Okay so this is a One-shot about what happens right before Cammie leave the school in search of her father. And I know is really short and all. I actually wrote like immediately after I read Only the Good Spy Young the first time and it turns out that it kinda does go with so of things that happened in Out of Sight out of Time. This is my first posted fanfic so please don't be brutal especially about it being so short but I think that it ties in with the story pretty well so please enjoy.
I walked into my dorm, thinking about all of the things that had happened in my life that I wished I could forget, but knew I never would. Thinking about what I was going to do. But as I heard the door open, I didn't know what to do. I knew someone would find it, I just hoped it wouldn't have happened until after I was gone.
"What is this, Gallagher Girl?"
"You don't understand Zach."
"I understand enough. Cammie what are you thinking, do you have any idea how dangerous this is?" he said.
"I have to do this Zach. You said it yourself, this isn't going away on its own. I have to finish what my father started!" As he walked closer to me he said.
"And what makes you think have to do this alone Gallagher Girl?" Then when I was holding his hands and with his face inches from mine I said.
"I have to do this Zach, you have to trust me."
"What, that you won't do something you'll regret? Then he placed his hands on my face. And I put my hands over his while looking straight into his eyes as he said "If you have to do this, let me come with you."
"No Zach, I have to do this alone. I'm not going to drag any of you into this, you've all suffered enough."
"Then I can't let you go!" he said as he pulled away.
"Please Zach you have to understand why I have to do this! Why won't you let me go!"
"Because I'm afraid Cammie." he said as we got closer to each others face again, holding his hands.
"Of what?"
"That I won't be able to protect you." And that's when I kissed him.
"It's not your job to protect me Zach." I said as my forehead was pressed against his. "Why do you go so far to protect me?"
"Because I…. because I love you. I'll do anything it takes to keep you safe. I…." and that was when I stopped him, when I took the deepest breath I could and kissed him just wishing that I could stay there forever with him. But when it finally ended and we pulled away and I could feel the tears in my eyes and I said.
"I love you too." We just stood there holding each other, like there was nothing left for us but love, and each other.
"Gallagher Girl, please, let me come with you. I would never forgive myself if I let them hurt you. We can take on anything when we're together. We can be together." I kissed him again.
"I'm sorry Zach, I have to go alone."
"Where will you go?"
"Wherever I have to go to find answers."
"What if something happens? What if something goes wrong?"
"I don't know. I'll have to figure it out when I get there."
"When will you be back?"
"At the end of the summer."
"But what if you don't come back Gallagher Girl?" Then I placed my hand on his cheek and said
"I will come back. You have to believe in me Zach. And when I come back I'll have answers and we'll defeat the Circle and everyone will finally be safe and we can be together. I promise."
