A diaper Summer

After a long year of boredom, summer finally set in.
At this period of time, I would usually join my parents to their trips outside the country.
But this year it's different.
This time, they were taking a trip somewhere in Southeast Asia, probably the Philippines.
They know well that I didn't like tropical climates since our last trip to Florida.
I decided to stay in our home for the two months that they're gone.
"If you have leftovers from your food, keep them in the freezer, Alright?"
My mother told me, pointing towards the refrigerator.
"Yes mom."
I answered.
"I'm thirteen years old, I can handle myself well."
My mom is your average overprotective mother.
She wanted to hire a babysitter in a regular weekly interval to see how I would be doing.
Luckily, my dad was enough to urge her to let me take responsibility for myself.
Ever since I was five, I already learned how to go to the store and buy stuff for myself anyway.
Mother stood in front of the door with her luggage bag, and turned around one last time.
"Remember, if you have any problems, you can contact your cousin with the numbers dad gave you.
Don't be shy.
She's just at the center of town, okay sweetie?"
Thankfully, dad interrupted us once more, "I think our son is responsible enough to be responsible on his own."
He winked at me.
"Isn't that right, my boy?"
"Yeah dad.
Don't worry, I won't leave the house without telling Bon bon.
Goodbye you two!"
And with that, I waved them goodbye as they entered their cabs and rushed to the airport.
As I stood in the living room, I looked at the grandfather clock in the corner and it's arms already wave at 7:30 p.m.
Now, for most kids with their parents gone this long, they'd probably throw a party with their friends or on their own.
They'd spend all night committing underage drinking and what not.
But not me.
My parents raised me well.
And I taught myself well.
So at this point, I finally decided that it was due time to go to bed.
Taking off my red T-shirt and black shorts, I went to my room and changed into my light blue pajamas.
