A/N: Another sequel thingy to Heartbreak! This one explains the ending more... happily. I'm not all that good in medical stuff so I'm sorry if it's wrong! Reviews are appreciated!
Miracle Of The Heart
'Beep, beep,'
Where… am I?
'Beep, beep,'
A voice sighed.
"Lenalee,"
Days went by quickly.
My days with him were getting shorter and shorter.
"Lenalee," a voice from across the room called. "You're up?"
I turned towards the direction of the voice. I could feel his silver eyes boring into my dead ones. I loved his eyes.
"Yeah," I smiled.
"So," he said as he sat on one of the squeaky plastic chairs next to my bed. "What do you want to do today?"
'Anything, as long as you're with me…'
"Why don't we go out for a walk?" I said.
'But he'll be the only one walking…'
"Sure," I could feel a smile forming on his handsome features. "Let me go get your wheelchair first."
But of course, everything's harder when you're blind.
It all began a year ago.
'I wish… I had fallen for you instead.'
I sighed. After all this time, I was still affected by what he said.
I had attempted suicide soon after that. As stupid as I was, I had grabbed the first weapon I saw from my room. A penknife.
I remembered locking myself in the attic and slicing my wrist, but nothing after that.
I remembered waking up in the hospital, panicking because I couldn't see.
I remembered the doctor telling me,
"You accidentally cut the vein that connects to your cornea. I'm sorry, but there's nothing we can do."
I remembered Allen, who found time to visit me everyday, though I know he was busy.
I admired his determination.
The doctor told me there was a cure, but it was risky.
I could do a cornea transplant, which would enable me to see again. But, if it failed, I could risk both my eyes and life.
I decided to risk it all. All for one.
For Allen…
"Don't visit me anymore,"
Silence. I knew he was in shock.
"Why?" he asked after a long silence.
"Just… don't. You're annoying." My heart broke.
"I… understand. Sorry. I'll… leave now. Bye."
I listened as he got up from the squeaky chair. I listened to his footsteps fading in the distance. He didn't realize, I didn't realize it would hurt this much.
I'm sorry…
You couldn't imagine how I felt when the nurses and surgeons wheeled me into the surgical ward.
My hands were shaking and my palms were sweating.
'Calm down, you know it'll be worth it'
I certainly hope so.
Vibrant colors. Electric blue, soft white.
I could see…
I didn't think much, and immediately ran to Allen's house.
"Allen!" I banged on the door, threatening to break it down.
The door opened.
And there he was.
"Lenalee?" a number of emotions passed through his face. Shock and confused were the most evident.
"Allen," I sighed.
"You… can see?"
"Yes,"
I pulled him in for a hug.
"I know you don't feel the same, but…" I paused and took a deep breath. "I love you."
His gorgeous eyes soften.
"What if I do?"
