A poem based on Elphaba from the musical 'Wicked' completely unintentionally but apparently if your clever enough you can see little hints to it. Elphaba's POV, just imagine that Fiyero has died and she has been alone for many years, but really it's up to the imagination.
Written for Jade Siddall, a dear friend who was the only one to believe in me, thank you.
Sweet serenade of the wind,
Sweeping me off my feet.
Gently landing into your embrace,
Your magnetic pull over me,
Stronger than gravity.
Evading constant daily traumas
Breeze on by
Lift my smile
For only you truly know me.
My wings spread,
I begin to gracefully soar,
Higher, higher, higher.
Closer into your velvet touch,
Smoothly setting into my skin.
Your touch, my glue,
Sticking, soothing, comforting
My destiny awaits.
Your voice, your roar across this planet,
It deafens me, paralyzes my very soul.
I tremble for my beloved.
Frozen to the magnetic core of this earth
But now it is my time to leap,
My time to soar,
As I join your constant embrace.
