As the first drops of rain fell, quickly turning into a full shower one SAS unit and one young boy sat alone in the clearing.

Ben had always promised himself he'd watch over the boy. They were both alone. He was like a little brother. Family.

So why was he sitting here. Crying. As his little brother died in his arms.

Looking down Ben could see the life slowly draining out of the younger boy. First his skin, loosing its colour. Becoming more like a corpses skin by the second.

NO! He had to live. He was all he had left. They had both lost there parents. They were both alone. They needed eachover.

"Please dont leave" Ben wispered to the child. Because he was a child. A young boy in a different world. "Please. We need eachover"

The boy looked up. Slowly loosing conciousness. "Ben..." he struggled to finish. "Just promise me..."

Ben looked at him more tears in his eyes the boy continued "stay with me. Until i go".

The man that stood behind Ben knelt down putting his arm around his shoulders in a comforting way. Ben loved the boy he was his family.

But K-Unit cared about him too. The boys last few months at Brecon Beacons had seen him earn respect and grow close to the people around him. All that was for nothing. He was going to die, it was inevitable no matter what Ben tried.

Ben looked down once again at the boy. He watched as every remaining spec of light and life washed out of the boys eyes.

The child closed his eyes.

Ben continued to cry. Alex Rider was dead.
