Prologue
The statement
(narrator pov)
Mira-Jane Hazeldawn sighed as she wrenched her sight away from that day's issue of The Daily Prophet. She was really surprised; and unhappy, too. The horrible news was almost too coincidental, so ironic that it almost broke the law of common sense. She just wished that it was all just a bad dream, but no. Voldemort really had killed two more people; Lily and James Potter.
She sighed again. She couldn't believe the two happy Aurors who had been her friends since her first year, had been killed today. Then came the slightly weird news; their one year old son, Harry Potter, had survived, with only a lightning shaped scar on his forehead were the Killing Curse hit. This was very peculiar, and it gave him the name of 'The Boy who Lived'. Mira looked over to her baby daughter's cot and smiled. If ol' Voldy came for her, she'd strike him down. That's the positive of being an Auror, and a strong one to boot.

10 years later, on the 15th of May, I stood at the livingroom window, waiting. My nearly eleven year old daughter, Olivia Katrina Hazeldawn, was up in her room, reading. I thought, 'She might be in Ravenclaw, if she gets in, that is.' I had sent in the form for Hogwarts months ago, yet I still hadn't received a confirmation. I was getting worried. Suddenly, the sound of feet running down the stairs made me turn around. "Mum, mum! Look here!" It was Olivia's voice.
"What is it honey?"
"An owl just gave this to me! Look! 'To Ms. O.K. Hazeldawn, Light Dawn Cove, Attic room, the desk.' Isn't that awesome!? And weird!?"
I stood there, shell-shocked. Talk about coincidence. "Sweetie, could I, have that letter?"
Olivia blinked at me. "Sure, why not?"
I smiled. "Thank you, honey. You're a great girl." I put the letter in my pocket. Then I noticed something. "Olivia, honey, why were you-" I turned around, only to see nothing."-doing at the desk..." I sighed, then facepalmed and soon started giggling. 'Oh, that child,' I thought, 'sneaky as a Slytherin, she is.' I could almost tell the Sorting Hat was going to have a hell of a time placing her.

It was around 2:00 AM on 16th May (i.e. my exact birth date) when I heard creaking from the stairs near the corridor. I sluggishly got up, slightly startled by the noise. Who could it be that's creeping around after dark? It could only be one person; My mum
"Mum?", I asked, slightly freaked out. Then I heard a sigh.
"Eh. Busted." After saying that, she (Mum) entered my smallish room.
"Merlin's beard, this room is small,", she said. "We had a much bigger room when I was your age, maybe a bit older."
"Merlin's beard? And whose we?" This was getting confusing, but it was gonna get weirder.
"Ok, lets start with a simple statement," she said, ignoring my question. She took a long breath, and gave me my most life changing sentence I had ever heard.
"Honey, you're a witch."
So sorry it's short but I don't have much time in my life these days. Honestly, my school doesn't let us have a social life at all! XP Anyways, bye!
