The second time they met was decidedly more eventful, but no less memorable, than the first time. But that's partially because of the normal chaos and hoopla that comes with the traveling circus that is the WWE.
Although they weren't in Chicago and they'd both come considerably far in their respective careers.. there was still an element of 'new' and 'strange' but just enough 'familiar' that it wasn't too uncomfortable.
He's still a smart ass and she's still sarcastic, he has more tattoos and she has less piercings.
But, beneath that, peel back all of the layers that make up their true personalities and what they've fabricated to portray the persona's that they display on television; they are still the same.
For that, Amy is thankful that at least some things have stayed the same. Because, with everything else that's gone on in her life in the past year, when the world seemingly turned upside down; plucking her up and shaking her thoroughly until she couldn't tell left from right... she is thankful when they meet again.
Not just because he's a familiar face, not just because he won't judge, but because she needs him because she needs a way out of the arena and everyone else has gone.
So that's why she doesn't mind too much when he looks over and smirks, the first thing coming out of his mouth, not a 'hello', not a 'long time no see' but rather:
"You're lucky I'm here."
Amy couldn't agree more.

Notes: This is intended to be a series of related ficlets (I'm thinking 50 but we'll see what actually happens), all ranging under 500 words. As stated before the content, this is Lita/Punk-centric- as the majority of my recent writing in the wrestling area tends to be.
