Author's Note: What's there to say other than I that I don't own Chrono Crusade?

Apples

Rosette slid her lunch tray away from the counter and stared down at her pitiful lunch. I bet prisoners get fed better meals than we do… she thought dismally. She slowly shuffled in line towards one of the longer tables. Her eyes lit up when she saw the huge basket of apples, all stacked in a perfect pyramid. Her stomach growled hungrily just thinking about the sticky-sweet round fruits. Rosette shot out a hand and snatched one of the red beauties. She glanced around before reaching out to grab another. But alas! Just as she was about to take another apple, Sister Kate slapped her hand saying "For shame, Rosette! You know full well that you're only allowed to take one! God is watching." Rosette glared up at the older sister and stuck her tongue out at her before she continued down the line and found the cookie tray. She glanced back at Kate before pulling a scarp of paper from her pocket and writing a note on it, setting it in front of the cookie tray. She then skipped happily out to the courtyard to join her little demon.

"Rosette," asked Chrono when she sat down by him, "why do you have so many cookies?"

Back inside, Sister Kate screamed furiously at all the other sisters who had four or five cookies on their plates, but all of them said the same excuse: it was the sign's fault! Sister Kate looked back at the cookie tray and screamed at the top of her lungs ripping apart the small sign that Rosette had placed there that read: "Take as many as you want, God is watching the apples."
