Our story begins in the icy land of atlas not in the kingdom... no never in the kingdom, but instead far in the mountains in the deepest reaches of a top secret government facility, where a group of atlas's greatest minds worked in almost perfect unison to find a solution to the Grimm threat currently at hand, many months had passed before anything was decided, which to be fair projects like these were a dime a dozen, they'd find a solution, and a new Previously undiscovered Grimm species came out of the woods to play, and at some point they weren't sure when but there was a point when they realized that humanity didn't need a hero or at least, not the huntsman, see huntsman and huntresses the skilled ones died first, and those lacking in their field guarded settlements, worked as mercenaries, hired guns for the rich, and the more morally ambiguous kind even turned to banditry, the rest either stayed how they were, saved people killed grim and retired, and that was the problem Grimm didn't age and they didn't die either, or at least not in a traditional sense they just kinda vanished and reappeared elsewhere, in most cases where they were the least needed, a good example of this was the mountain Glenn incident, it was supposed to be a new frontier a place for the children, the faunas, and humanity alike to set aside their differences and unite, everything was fine at first, at one point everything was even ahead of time, some where even moving into their new homes, it brought people hope, but just everything began to settle down , life seemed easy for a time and then sadly the Grimm came from the forest, with now walls the civilians fell one by one the huntsman and huntresses while all skilled in their own way, none where prepared for a hoard so large, some called for back up others evacuated the civilians and those who didn't fought bravely on the front lines died even but never before giving a final fuck you to the god forsaken beasts, of course all their efforts were for naught because when vale heard of the news they bombed the tunnels dooming each and everyone on the other side
It was for this specific reason that these scientists gathered here, huntsmen like all men and women alike aged, retired and died, and when that happened the Grimm threat grew stronger, and it is for this reason that at the end of the day DR. Moss evergreen Chief agent of the CAGEF (CIBER AUGUMENTED GLOBAL ENHANCEMNT FORCE) presented project Auger to General Ironwood of the atlas military a project where they'd take the mind or a dead or soon to be dead individual, and drain the aura from three other individuals using the device originally used to transfer the old maidens powers and throw that all inside a well weaponized and highly durable robotic shell, hopefully giving it three semblances or a combination of the three, the mind of whoever they received, and the fully weaponized force of the Atlas military truly an amazing spectacle, however when they first started they weren't expecting so much to come of the six specimen that arrived at their (door?) the next day
three way too eager teens, siblings if you could go by their last names and looks alone and three others less willing than the others but understanding of the importance e of their mission as a whole
the siblings came first seeing as they were all well into their teens and the most likely to survive the procedure, despite being on their death beds as it was, were measured, tested for their IQ's, then promptly sent into hyper sleep before the remainder of the screening, the other three, went through the same process with much less struggle seeing as the first ones were so excided that they wouldn't pay any attention, as the second small family entered hyper sleep, they began designing the prototype suits for the male and female candidates seeing that the brain of the two smartest would go into each respective suit, and surprisingly it was their two youngest subjects, a jaune Arc and a Penny Polindina, the blond boy at the age of 15, possessed a mind for battle field tactics, deception, and unsurprisingly didn't think like those hero type's, always so willing to die at the beck and call of anyone in need, it even seemed he looked down on those as foolish after all where are the hero's of tomorrow if they die today, the boy was well grounded DR. Moss even looked slightly impressed, the penny girl also at the age of 15 was much the same but with a very sympathetic soul born to caring parents in a forgiving world she would be a great leader, but not a great foot soldier if her free spirit had anything to say about it
with everything decided aside from the weapons they got to work, the scientists in charge of suit design started off with the frame, using only hallowed dust alloy joints for the exoskeleton and foundation, government grade circuits, and screws (and a whol lotta shit I know a whol lotta nada about) for maximum joint movement and posture the skin texture would be a mix between a white and black white dust mesh finely knit on a 3D printer before being applied and pressed into the frame nd left to cool for thirty minutes before screwing in several thin layers of dust metal alloy, and adding the final layer of true skin mesh, (it feels real but isn't lol... getting real sci fi aren't I fuck me I know) of course the eyes were built to look normal but instead were cameras that record real time and send the data to the brain for filing away and the hair organically grown from the skull up
the same was done for the girl but with a female body fit for a couple years in the future, since the whole debacle would take a couple years to begin with no immediate results would bear fruits if they didn't at least first run tests such as how the bodies felt for the Jaune and penny which could be tested easily through hyper sleeps simulation program which would give them tasks and missions to complete while they did their work, all in all everything seemed to be going smoothly until the end of the project when they went to transfer the auras to Jaune mind and his cocoon, same with the penny girl as the aura transferred the four others died and as their auras left their bodies they entered and the bearers auras consumed the auras of the other test subjects at first it was as if they were fighting for dominion of the subjects minds but alas the original candidates survived and when into stasis shortly after like planned
while not a complete failure, it wasn't a success either so like anything gone wrong they reported it to the general who ordered the stop the project inform the subjects of the incident and plant them in the hunter academies like originally planned, which made no sense to DR. Moss anyway why shut down the project, and proceed with the mission anyway it made no sense, but orders where orders and he would fallow... tomorrow when he finished making their many choices for weapons
Just as planned DR. Moss Evergreen shut down Auger and woke up the patients from stasis giving each a code name and identity number to each, to the Arc boy he gave codename: Paladin and ID Number: 117 and to the Polendina girl Codename: Archer ID Number: 325, after announcing this to then he promptly lead each to the supply closet he stored the weapons he'd been working on in and let then Choose, Penny chose one of the most complicated weapons by far a backpack with plasma swords that if properly used could shoot plasma rays for miles at a time, and the Jaune Much to his disappointment chose his first and most simple design a pair or plasma knuckles, they were just bras knuckles that could cut through practically anything even his cocoon could do more complicated things than that, and it was designed by far less superior minds but at the end of the day he did let the choose
so long as it didn't take too long for them to get used to it didn't really matter, they were going to separate battle schools anyway it wasn't long after , they'd chosen their weapons that he debriefed them once again on where they were going and what they were doing as they sat down he began to explain
"I'd first like to begin by apologizing to both of you, when you came here you expected to be saved and clearly less than half of you came out alive, but we did manage to save some of you, I Just regret that it ended up killing the vast majority, secondly I'd like to congratulate you on surviving this tough ordeal and because of your lack of dying your looking to live at least four times longer than anyone you'll ever know an love... so that's not terrible its just not great, now onto business you Jaune Arc I'll be sending you to beacon academy your mission will be to act as a student there and graduate with full marks under the circumstances that 1 you report any suspicious activity directly to penny who you can contact at any time using her codename and ID, Penny You'll be acting as a go between for the general and I anything the boy reports to you is to go directly to the general or I now do we have any questions or do you Understand?"
The doctor asked impatiently
"yes I have just one Question and that's all"
the Arc boy asked
"Yes Jaune speak freely"
"during my time in beacon under the circumstance that I cant report to penny how will I contact you"
at that the doctor sighed
"well that's certainly a good question, under the circumstance you cannot in anyway contact each other, you may search through the files stored in your left arms, a display will appear that says emergency contact you have two... I'm sure I don't need to explain who they are just call either and we'll see what can be done you can of course contact penny through there to just talk through it and you'll no doubt make contact and if you cant you know who to call"
The doctor smiled genuinely and finally rushed them onto their bullheads separately
