Chapter 1: Consume (Part 1)

"(Yawn) I'm glad it's the start of summer" Mark said to yourself. Mark stood up and cleaned his bed. You went down and you saw whole of your family eating their breakfast while their eyes are locked on the television screen.

"What's going on mom?" Mark asked her mother. "There is some kind of virus outbreak in New York and some military personals are in there mercilessly killing infected people" Mark's mother replied. "It's lucky that we're here in California. Mom, Dad I forgot to tell you yesterday that I'm entering a part-time job." Mark said to both of his parents. "What part-time job?" Mark's father asked. "I'm applying for a director assistant. I heard that a low budget film is going to be screened in the abandoned building in the outskirts of town and the director needed an assistant. It's a good start for my directing skill" Mark replied to his father. Mark always liked theater arts, especially directing.

Mark ate his breakfast, did a small shower, got dressed and went out of the house "Mom, Dad I'm leaving." Mark said to his parents. The abandoned building is on the other side of town so he decided to go ride a bus. Mark walked to the bus stop and rode a bus. Mark looked around for a seat and the only seat he could find is beside the man that looks like that he have a cold. Mark sat beside the sick man but kept a small distance so Mark won't catch his cold. Midway through the ride, the hold man coughed heavily and some of his saliva got into Mark's body. "Gross" Mark thought. Mark looked at the mirror and he saw his destination so he stood up and prepared to go.

Mark got out of the bus and there stood in front of him was a huge abandoned building. Mark went inside and saw many people and many cameras and many other things. Mark went to a decent looking lady and asked for directions "Miss, do you know where the director is?" "He's right there. That small white tent" The lady said as she pointed the tent at the west side of the building. Mark walked through the crowd of people and into the tent. Mark opened the tent and he saw the director. The director looked like a middle aged man with a long goatee. "Sir I'm applying for the assistant director job sir" Mark said. "You're hired. Now get me my coffee" the director said. "What?" Mark asked looking puzzled. "I said get me my coffee! You're just my assistant" the director protested. Mark went out the tent and looked for a coffee machine. He saw one on the table in front of the tent and Mark immediately grabbed a cup and poured a cup of coffee. Mark went back to the tent and gave the coffee to the director. "Phew! This coffee stinks! If you made another mistake, I'm going to fire you!" The director said. "I'm sorry sir it won't happen again" Mark apologized. Mark went out of the tent so he could await further instructions.

After an hour, the director called Mark. "Yes sir" Mark said. "Stay beside me during the filming and don't do anything" the director said. Both of them went out of the tent and into the second floor where the movie will be filmed.
