This is me trying to be funny. I'm not quite sure where I was coming from or going to with this one-shot, but here you are. Enjoy!
DISCLAIMER: I don't own anything except the plot and little Mira :)
Gokudera sighed and pushed his reading glasses higher on his face. He had been in the study all morning poring over books on some exotic creatures that existed in the early seventh century. He raised a brow and turned his eyes slightly to the left hearing a noise from that direction. He smirked quietly and turned his page as a little dark head disappeared behind the plush seat near the unlit fireplace. He shifted slightly and sighed. "Here we go again," he thought.
A moment later, a little girl jumped out from the side of his seat.
"Graaah!" she growled her little fingers hooked and her cute little face scrunched into what was meant to be a very scary face.
"Oh my! Is that where you were?" he said feigning surprise. She smiled and nodded eagerly as she climbed up into his lap.
"What are you reading?" she asked looking down at the creature in the book.
"That is... well, I'm not really sure what that is yet, but I'll bet it's very scary."
"No it's not," she said puffing her cheeks and looking at him. He laughed and tickled the little girl off his lap and then ruffled her hair.
"Where's your mother, Mira?" he asked turning back to his book, "isn't she looking for you?"
Haru had actually come into the library looking for her daughter not three minutes before she appeared in an attempt to scare him. She pouted and he shook his head. She looked just like her father...
"There you are," came Haru's voice from the door. The little girl turned with a giggle and made to race past her mother. Haru caught her before she could and the little one squealed either in delight or protest. It was hard to tell with her sometimes.
"Hold still Mira," she said trying to hold on to her daughter as she turned to Gokudera. "Thanks," she said with a smile before disappearing with a very energetic Mira desperately trying to get away from Haru again.
He watched the door they had just disappeared through with a fond smile on his face. He had formed a special kind of bond with Mira when she was very small. Since then, aside from Mira's father, he was her favourite person in the world... then came the rest of the Vongola Family who did their best to spoil her rotten.
He shook his head and rested his temple on his fist as he returned to his book. Yamamoto was a lucky guy to have such an adorable little girl.
