SMACK!

An owl hits the upstairs window of a dilapidated house in Spinners End. A pale hand opens the window, reaches out, and snatches a letter from the now unconcious owl on the porch roof, and the window is slammed shut on another unhappy morning at the Snape residence.

Severus comes sweeping down the staircase, a rather imposing sight as he is grumbling under his breath about incompentent owls and snapping his wand at every imperfect thing he sees; stained armchairs; paintings not hung perfectly straight; and of course the errant doxy from the dining room curtains.

"SEAMUS!" he yells as he enters the kitchen "How many times must I remind you that your friends are to send your letters to your quarters in the basement! It pains me enough to have you over summer break, I don't need your correspondence interrupting my morning tea! One more of these 'interrruptions' and you'll be on the streets!"

Seamus calmly looked up at Severus from over his Daily Prophet and smiled a bit at Severus's dishelveled apperance. Taking a sip of his stong black coffee, he said; "Professor, I daresay I need not remind you that my presence here is on Dumbledores orders. You can't be rid of me no matter how much you'd like. Also I'd like to point out that the letter in question is adressed to you." Seamus took another sip of his coffee as the rage started to drain from Snape's face. Seamus continued: "The owl paused here in the kitchen and I informed it that you take your tea in the upstairs sitting room. I heard the impact, I apprently neglected to warn it of your inherent fear of fresh air and sunlight. My apologies." Seamus finished his remark with a mildly amused smirk, as he'd never dream of sincerely apoligizing to Snape for anything, let alone of the insults that flowed so freely between them. Seamus had learned alot about Snape in his past three weeks at Spinners End, and the obsessive window closing was one of the least of Snape's annoying habits. In fact, Seamus regularly spread jam on chairs, tipped pictures crooked, and irritated the doxys into flying about, just to make Snape even more agitated at the fact Seamus was not able to leave.
