Summary: Didn't he help her become the monster

Birkhoff: You can't beat Percy at his own; the only way to win is not to play

The cold glint of that gun made his mouth run dry; the cold look in her eyes made his whole body run cold. There was death in those eyes; not just his death but that of what ever Nikita had saved all those years ago. The pointless reason why Nikita save her from the breech and after so many years it was pointless.

"Didn't you tell me I couldn't beat him at his own game" he knew the very second she spoke those words, the reason Percy laid dead was because of her.

"I did" he can't help but answer her, can't help but pray for his life even if there was no point.

"Didn't you tell me you ruled this place?" he nods because he remembered all those times he had boasted to her, to everyone that he was ruler of their underground operation. The gun jerks at him and he screws his eyes close, at the onslaught of pain that bullet would bring.

"Didn't I say the world was cruel" he is prolonging his life, that is all because that girl before him isn't sane, she isn't whole. She was broken many times.

"You did" she agrees and for a moment he opens his eyes to stare in to her doe ones. Searching for something in there to connect to and bring back some hope. But there is nothing, the monster had finally won and for once he wasn't the one holding on to the leash to it.

"Didn't I say you should never trust anyone?" a flicker and for a moment he wonders if he had said the wrong thing. But she lowers the gun, never once losing that deadly look in her eyes and moves towards him. A sway in her hips that reminds him of Amanda.

"You helped the monster win" she whispers before she takes the memory stick from his hand and offer him a small smile, not the one he remembered from all those years ago. That time was gone, now was the time for new monsters. Probably ones more twisted then Percy and Amanda.

"Didn't you tell me you always had the key to this place" holding the memory stick up they both knew just what secrets that held, the secrets that Nikita had always been looking for. He had hidden them away as his escape plan, never thought he would really need it and never guessed anyone would be smart enough to figure it out.

"I did" he agreed before she lowers the gun and the memory stick and shakes her head before turning and walking towards the exit and away from the old Division.

"I didn't play his game" she throws over her shoulder, catching his eye one last time promising him a world of pain if he followed her.

"I played my own game" and with that the new monster vanished with all the dirty secrets that would gain her all the power she never thought she would want when she was just a girl.

And didn't Birkhoff help her become this monster after all.

He did.

The End
