Cool Song: Enough - Brenda Lee

He knew it.

The way her smile never reached her eyes, the way her laughs weren't as joyous and real as before, the way her eyes didn't glitter anymore.

He knew he wasn't enough.

They were walking down an alley, the cold rain seeping through their thin clothing. He had sweeped her off the ground before bringing her to the safety of the cover against the rain. She clung tightly to hisneck, laughing in his ear softly.

It was so easy being with her.

He put her down, gently as he could, but she clung on to him. Her azure eyes stared at the dripping gray sky, at the little rain that dripped from the shadow of his bangs to his face. She grinned and pulled his hand.

"C'mon, let's dance!" she said, pleading look on her face but still smiling and angelic.

"It's raining, Kurapika; I don't want you to get sick and besides we're going to have to do it in the middle of the street," he said, but there was a smile in his voice. He knew that tone from Kurapika; she wouldn't give up on this one. She'd be tenacious this time.

"Aww c'mon! I don't care! I want to dance, now, with you, in the rain. C'mon!" She tugged at the collar of his wet polo, before settling her hand on his shoulder. That was the time he knew he should give in. He settled his hands on her waist and lifted her in the air in a twirl.

"C'mon, Kurapika," he whispered in her ear, making her giggle. "Let's dance."

"Yo Kurapika!"

She blinked. She daydreamed again, lingering on the events of her past. She put on a fake smile and turned to her companion. "Leorio?"

"You love the rain, don't you? Let's go, let's go around and dance, you know it's fun," he said with a grin. "May I take this dance?" He asked, stretching out a hand to her.

She looked down at the hand and shook her head. "No, no thanks, Leorio."

He had loved Kurapika-from the moment he had met her and known her inside. She could literally turn him around. Make his world spin, go upside down. She was his world now, and he thought, maybe if she wasn't there, he wouldn't exist, either.

He was wondering about the things he had loved about her. The way she smiles, the way the wind brushes on her hair. The way she's so solemn, so deep, and the way her eyes bore into your soul. The way she talks in riddles. The way she never lies. The way she'd tell you everything simple, short, and sweet.

He just couldn't seem it anymore.

He knew, he wasn't enough for her. It was funny, he thought, how every man wants to be the girl's first love, and the girl wants to be the man's last romance. Well, he was a few too late.

There was someone who came before him. He couldn't be compared. He was smart, rivalling Kurapika, who loved the competition. He knew his words, he knew how to play his own game.

Leorio didn't know.

He looked out his window, looked out at the Kurapika he had claimed for himself.

He realizes he had claimed Kurapika, but her heart is not with him.

She had left it with the first. And now, she's bleeding, just trying to stop the blood from pouring out.

She's in pain because of him.

Leorio sighed. He looked at Kurapika, who sat on the table outside by the porch, the cool night wind brushing on her hair. Her face was solemn, and she was thinking deeply into something. He could tell, they were thinking of the same thing.

"Kurapika."

"Leorio." She diverted her attention to him. His face showed it, something she didn't expect to see-acceptance.

"I know, Kurapika. This won't work out."

"I'm sorry, Leorio."

"I know, Kurapika," he said again, but his voice was now a whisper, in an attempt to cover up the tears. "I know."

"Thank you..." she said, looking out back at the blue moon.
