The Death Eaters were at Hogwarts. Everyone was fighting. People were dying. None of that mattered to Harry. He watched in horror as a Death Eater with a knife was advancing towards Ginny. She was fighting another Death Eater and didn't see the advancing one.
"Ginny! Behind you!" Harry yelled.
But it was too late. The Death Eater plunged the knife into Ginny's back. Harry yelled in anger and sorrow as his love, Ginny, fell to the ground, screaming in agony.
"Ginny!" Harry ran to her and picked her up. She stared into Harry's emerald eyes as he held her tight in his arms.
Hold on to me love
You know I can't stay long
All I wanted to say was
I love you and I'm not afraid
"Hang on Ginny. I'll get you to Madam Pomfrey." And with that Harry started toward the castle with Ginny in his arms.
Can you hear me?
Can you feel me in your arms?
Ginny glanced at Harry's face. She loved him. She knew he would have a brutal time if she died. She didn't want to die, but she gasped very unsteady breaths.
Holding my last breath
Safe inside myself
Are all my thoughts of you
Sweet raptured light
It ends here tonight
Ginny remembered all the blissful memories she had with Harry.
'If only I asked Harry to go out with me earlier.' Ginny pondered.
"Harry, I'm not going to make it."
It seemed like she had a hard time talking. Her voice sounded like she was in great pain.
Tears were sliding down her cheek.
"You have to. Hold on, we're almost there. You just have to make it" Harry said more trying to persuade himself than Ginny.
There were also tears in his eyes, but he was restraining them back.
I'll miss the winter
A world of fragile things
Look for me in the white forest
Hiding in a hollow tree
(Come find me)
Harry wasn't holding back tears anymore. One tear fell on Ginny's lip. She looked up at his handsome face.
I know you hear me
I can taste it in your tears
Ginny's breathing became raspy.
Holding my last breath
Safe inside myself
Are all my thoughts of you

It ends here tonight
Ginny let out a gasp of pain. Her back was gushing with blood. She could tell because Harry's robes were soaked in blood. Harry closed his eyes and tried to remember every aspect of Ginny's beautiful face. He knew she wasn't going to make it to the castle, but he couldn't let her die. He loved her.
"Ginny, I love you."
Closing your eyes to disappear
You pray your dreams will leave you here
But still you wake and know the truth
No one's there
"I-I-I love you too, Harry"
Say goodnight
Don't be afraid
Calling me calling me as you fade to black
Ginny gave her last breath and fell limp.
"Ginny," Harry whispered through tears, "You are my brightest star."
He looked at Ginny's angelic face.
She was smiling.
