Thanksgiving

Teuchi Ichiraku smiled as he closed up shop early after another great day. Today was Thanksgiving so he'd be going home to spend it with his daughter, Ayame. Teuchi locked the door when then he heard a sound.
"Old man? You don't usually close this early," a voice said in surprise.
Teuchi turned with a smile. "Oh Naruto-kun," he greeted the young genin. "Yes, I am going home to celebrate Thanksgiving with Ayame-chan."
"Oh," Naruto replied softly, his smiling faltering for a moment.
In truth, Naruto had wanted to at least eat dinner in the company of the one's he considered family since Old Man Hokage wasn't around anymore to care. Now that that wasn't happening, he might as well go home.
"Have a happy Thanksgiving Teuchi-jiji," Naruto said, giving his fake smile.
Teuchi easily saw through it. "Naruto-kun," he said.
"Yes?" Naruto asked curiously.
Teuchi smiled. "How about joining Ayame-chan and I for dinner?" he offered.
Naruto froze. "You serious?" he whispered.
Teuchi nodded. "Of course. You're family aren't you?" he teased.
Naruto's eyes widened as tears pooled but he quickly wiped them away and gave a real, blinding smile.
"Sure old man!" he cheered, running over.
Teuchi smiled, ruffling the blonde's hair. "Let's go then."
I don't know if they celebrate Thanksgiving in Japan but you know, family and that fact the site is called: FanFiction.
