The bet

The siblings were in good terms once more. Apollo made it a habit to stay with his sister in the forest for at least an hour. They enjoyed hunting together and teaching the young hunters. Also being the son of Zeus, Apollo enjoyed flirting with the nymphs.

"Sister?"

"Yes brother?"

"Why are your hunters so cruel to me?"

"That's because you won't stop flirting with them and like me, they dislike men."

"But I just want to be friends?" he stated slyly. "It's no good reason for them to use me in their target practice."

"Then stop being a flirt! Anyway, how are you and Athena?" the elder purposely added an understatement.

Apollo shifted uncomfortably. His gaze traveled anywhere as he rubbed his neck. "Well you see… I angered her last time, my man; Paris didn't choose her as the fairest." His face fell downcast. The eldest took pity on him and hugged him tightly.

OoOoOoOoOoO

The next day, Apollo came to Artemis' place; very angry. Each step he took would have sizzling sound. "You're back so soon brother. Tell me, what angered you?"

"That mortal! How could he? Disrespected my temple and my people! I'll show him who's god."

"Who is who Apollo?"

"Achilles! He beheaded my statue in Troy. This was all Paris' fault, he should also be equally punished."

Artemis burst out laughing. "That's it brother? You mean the Trojan war?" she continued to giggle as her brother shot her daggers. "Just because your man didn't choose Athena as the fairest, and your statue was beheaded, your day was ruined? My brother! I didn't know you have some issues."

"What's so funny?"

"Well I just admire that Achilles guy. He has a lot of guts! Imagine, behead you in your temple? That doesn't happen every day!"

"It's not funny! It's humiliating, and I hate being disrespected! I'm a god, he's a mortal. We're not on the same level."

"You know, if were on a bet right now, I'll place my stake at the Greeks."

"So you're against me?"

"Sort of… come on this would be fun. I'll bet the moon, what about you?"

"I'll place the sun. You can take it if the Greeks would win."

"Deal!"

Unfortunately, none of the Greeks or Trojan won. So the twins just took the moon and the sun whenever they please. This explains why eclipse happen. When the moon is lost, it means Apollo would want to claim it for a while and when darkness and spread through the day, it means Artemis kept the sun from her brother for a moment.

The end…

Hey everyone! Oh... I miss publishing stories. Hopefully, I'll be able to continue my other story and start a new...I'm taking a break in writing anime-based-stories... and I'll start focusing on Greek mythology right now :))

So that's all... And please review. Comments, suggestions, violent reactions and criticism are welcomed as long as you'll say it in a nice and polite way :) Hope you all like it. I apologize for the randomness of the characters.
