The Wonderfully Rainy Day That Lily Evans Gave James Potter A Chance, By LifeMeaningOver (AKA Tashie)

"James Potter was sitting at the window that was placed near his bed at his Dormitory in Gryffindor Tower at Hogwarts. It was raining, and his thoughts were morose.

You see, he rather loved the fiery red head Lily Evans. But every tie he asked her out, she would say no.

But not today, today he had come up with wonderful plan that would win Lily's heart for sure.

Or so he had thought. All he had gotten has a slap and a red cheek to prove it.

You'd think girls would love to be showered with flowers... literally. With his best friend, Sirius Black's help, they had charmed the girls dormitory showers to rain flowers that yelled out, 'James Potter loves Lily Evans.' and the like.

Everyone at Hogwarts liked him. Except the Slytherin's of course, but nobody liked the Slytherin's anyway. So why couldn't Lily.

His thinking was interrupted by a knock on the door. He had put some very strong charms on their to make sure it couldn't open and even gone so far as to transfigure a large wooden wardrobe to make sure they couldn't pen it even if they got through his charms.

But, unfortunately, he knew that he couldn't keep his dorm mates out forever. And with a flick of his wand, the enchantments disappeared.

"Sorry I locked you out guys." he whispered. "But it never works. I really love her." He let his head drop onto the window with a smack.

"How would you know?" A decidedly feminine voice replied that definitely wasn't one of his dorm mates voice.

He turned around to see the centre of his affections standing in the doorway with a beautiful blush on her cheeks.

She walked straight up to him and whispered into his ear, "I've decided I kind of like you, James Potter, but be aware if you ruin this I will kill you slowly and painfully." She kissed his cheek then pulled back to look deep into his shocked eyes, "You shall take me to the next Hogsmeade weekend, Potter. Meet me at the common room at 9am sharp."

And with that said, Lily Evans left the room.

And that was the day that Lily Evans finally gave into her feelings for James Potter.

The End."

Sirius Black sniggered loudly, "I can't believe you wrote a book about the day you and Lily got together, Prongs!"

This story is in memory of the day that James Potter was born. The 27th of March. He would be 50 years old if he were alive.
