Sunlight trickled in through the window stinging Alec's eyes. He shut his eyes again and turned over to bury his head in Magnus's chest, listening to the beat of his heart.

"Good morning darling" came Magnus clear voice, disturbing the silence. Not that Alec minded. He could listen to Magnus all day.

"Good morning" came Alec's muffled voice. He tilted his head up toward Magnus face earning him a kiss. Before it deepened Magnus pulled away chuckling when Alec pouted.

"Darling, I want to talk to you"

"Was it anything important?" Alec locked his baby blue eyes with Magnus golden cat eyes. Which made his heart flutter a little every time.

"Nope, I just want to hear your voice darling"

"Don't you think you are using that a little bit to much?"

"Never my gorgeous darling." Alec felt the scarlet blush creep up his cheeks making Magnus laugh.

"I love how easily you blush", making Alec blush more. "There are more things I love about you too. I love the way you relax when you sleep, when you let your guard down. I love the way you let your soul be free. I love your eyes, I love your smile, and I love the way your hair looks in the morning." Magnus could see that Alec started to look uncomfortable but that he was trying to hide it, even though he knew that he couldn't hide anything from Magnus, even if he tried.

"Hey Alec, what's wrong?" Magnus asked cautiously, he didn't want to upset the young Shadowhunter more than he already was.

"Nothing, it really is nothing Mags."

"Now, I know you too well. I know that it's not nothing" Alec looked like he was fumbling for his word before he started speaking.

"You keep telling me that that I'm beautiful and that you love me but deep down I just feel… trivial" Magnus wrapped his arms around Alec and squeezed him tight.

"This is serious now. You need to know. You are not trivial. I don't even know how to tell you anymore. You know what I'm going to try showing it to you. Can we meet tomorrow afternoon, in Central Park, on the bridge over the lake? Please." The traces of a smile crept up onto Alec's face.

"Okay." Alec replied, tilting his head to kiss Magnus.

Alec hurried to their meeting spot, met by violin music. He saw Magnus and felt his heart stutter, smiling at the feeling. He didn't know if he loved or hated that Magnus med him feel that way.

"Alec!" He heard Magnus call, and Alec rushed forward to wrap him in his arms. When they disentangled themselves from each other Magnus sunk down on one knee and pulled out a small blue velvet box, with just a simple silver band inside.

"Alexander Lightwood. I love you so much it hurts. I can't even bear to think about not being with you for another day. I want to spend every last day of my life with you. I want to use that spell now. The spell that makes me mortal. I have experienced everything except growing old with someone. I hope that that person will be you. So, Alexander Gideon Lightwood, will you do me the honor of marrying me."

"Magnus are you sure?" Alec whispered.

"I have never been more sure of anything in my life. I love you so much."

"If that is true, then yes, I will marry you. But I only want you to become mortal if you really want to. I could never in my good conscience do that to you."

"You don't need to worry about me not being sure." Magnus replied, while slipping the simple band around Alec's left ring finger.

"I don't have a real ring for you but for now this will have to do." Alec carefully twisted off his Lightwood family ring and slipped it onto Magnus slim finger.
