Inspired by TCOT Blonde Bonanza. At the start of this book, PM stops off at Bolero Beach where DS is coming to the end of a 2 week stay with Aunt Mae. DS introduces him to the later client Dianne Alder when she attends Aunt Mae's dinner. Whilst talking quietly in a corner, Aunt Mae interrupts them and asks them if they're talking business or making love. This is after PM has seen Dianne on the beach and commented about her having the second best pair of legs on the beach.

My take on what might have happened when they are alone again later, after the dinner. The plot bunny just had to keep on digging!

Aunt Mae pottered about in the kitchen clearing the rest of the cleaned dishes. Della stood by the door putting away the condiment set. Perry Mason stood on the porch decking smoking a cigarette and looking out towards the Pacific Ocean, which was calm for that time of night, thinking about his new client. Suddenly Della appeared by his shoulder shrugging herself into a light shawl.

'You ready for that walk?' She asked gently.

'Sure,' he replied stubbing the cigarette out and offering her his right arm. Della slipped her left arm through his and squeezed herself up against him to fight the wind chill that had cooled the air significantly since they started dinner earlier that evening.

Without saying a word they stepped onto the soft sand and began walking slowly towards the town lights about a mile away. They walked in silence for a few moments before Perry shifted his arm and slipped it about Della's waist pulling her tight against him.

'Please tell Aunt Mae again, that was a superb dinner as always.'

'I will. She enjoys your visits, and pulls out all the home made cooking when she knows you're coming.'

'I wish we could get down here more often. I like it here. I like the way you are when we're here.' Della stopped him in their tracks and looked up at him. Perry's face softened as he looked down at her bathed in the light of the full moon. Her face was quizzical. 'What I mean,' he continued, 'Is that you're so relaxed, at ease, and I get to see you in that tiny bathing suit I like so much.' He grinned. Della took on a look of mock horror, then added herself,

'Well I get to see you relaxed and getting some sun, as well as seeing that broad chest of yours.' Perry released his grip slightly then brought his hand to her face. He gently brushed his thumb across her chin, tilting it up towards his own face.

'Then it's agreed.' He said

'What?'

'We both enjoy seeing each other semi naked.' He chuckled. Della slapped his arm lightly.

'Aggh, you're incourigable.' They started walking again.

'Will you get Paul to start looking into this tomorrow?' Della ventured.

'Yes. First thing. We'll make contact and get him started on the enquiries. In the meantime, let's just enjoy the walk.' They settled back into a slow, deliberate pace, each lapsing into their own thoughts about the bathing suits, not the client for once.
