"I can't believe he's one already." You mused. Your child, Jonathon, sitting on the floor, playing with toy blocks. You heard a hum next to you. You turned, seeing your husband leaning back, hands behind his head. He grinned. "Only one, and he's already unlocked two of his superpowers." You smiled, recalling the memories. Clark looked up to the ceiling. "Let's see, he unlocked his flight…." He trailed off, trying to find the memory. You jumped in. "He fell off the bed." You shrugged nonchalantly. "Didn't hit the ground." Clark chuckled.
"Oh yeah. I remember you telling me about that." He grinned. "He discovered his strength when he was in his crib." You nodded in response. "He pulled apart the barriers." You shook your head, putting it in your hands. "He's gonna be a handful."
"You mean he isn't already?" Clark teased. You playfully elbowed him in the ribs.
~It's not an 'S'~
You had just finished eating, and you were back on the floor, playing with Jonathon. You began a chant. "We've got to wear out the baby. We've got to wear out the baby." You spoke to him in the baby voice, (you know, the voice you use exclusively for babies and dogs….yeah, that one), while giving him a soft smile.
Jonathon stayed up for another hour or so, but eventually decided he was tired. You picked him up, carrying him to bed, Clark on your tail. You laid him down in his slightly busted crib, Clark had tried to fix it, but there's only so much you can do, and tucked him in. You both kissed his forehead, and quietly headed back downstairs.
You sat on the couch, his arm around you, each with a plate of cake. You were going through a photo album of Jonathon, even though he hasn't been alive nearly long enough to fill one. As you flipped through, you pointed to each picture while telling him the story behind it. You let out a yawn as Clark laughed. "Time for your bed time too, missy." He scooped you up and carried you up the stairs, laying you on the bed. He disappeared for a second before coming back, ready for bed. He climbed in next to you and kissed your cheek. "Goodnight, Y/n."
