I wanted to visit her at the hospital. I really did. But Haymitch wouldn't allow it. Just like he wouldn't let me visit her in twelve. I guess he does have a point, though. Katniss wouldn't to be visited by the person who killed her sister. Of course, I didn't actually blow her up myself, I just invented the bomb. To Katniss, there doesn't seem to be a difference. She made that perfectly clear that day in the Capitol, the day she shot Coin. I just wish that she could see what she accomplished, not just for us, but for all of Panem. She saved us, and gave us choice. She gave us a future to look forward to, where we wouldn'y have to fear for the lives of our children. She gave us freedom.

The country is healing. The progress may be slow, but we are getting there. I have dreamed about this day for so long. No more tesserae, no more reaping, no more games. All that time I used to spend ranting about the Capitol no longer seems wasted. The Capitol has been made to pay for their actions. They have been punished, and it's all because of Katniss. I wonder if she even realizes all the good she has done.

Admittedly, I do still think about her from time to time. I know she chose Peeta, and I suppose that's what's best. As much as I care about Katniss, we have grown apart over the last few years. When it comes to the rebellion, we seem to see thing differently, and I just don't understand her anymore. I would like to visit her, to see if any of our former friendship could be restored. That is, if she can forgive me. But I don't think Haymitch would approve. He said something about reliving bad memories and the need to move on. Maybe one day, when the scars have faded, I will see her again.

As for me, I am already moving on. I have a new girlfriend and a job. I've been working in two helping to reconstruct the nut to turn it in to some kind of emergency center. This time they want to make sure it is unable to be breeched. I guess they need the person who destroyed it to make sure it can't be done again. That's one thing I don't understand. You would think Katniss, of all people, should understand the sacrafices needed to be made for the greater good. Blowing up that mountain practically won us the war. And when I'm finished here, Paylor is making me head of security. Not bad for a boy from the seam.

Katniss has her life now, and I have mine. Perhaps one day, we will cross paths again. Until then, I plan to use my life to help rebuild Panem and to insure it a bright future.
