9/11

"Bye mom! Bye Dad! I'll miss you all!" I look back at them one more time before I enter the walkway to the airplane. For all I know this could be the last time I ever seem them. As I walk lost in my thoughts I felt a soft hand grab mine and I look up to see my handsome boyfriend Eli,. The touch of his skin against mine calms my nerves for the time being. Eli, my family, and I had taken a trip to New York to spend time together before Eli and I go to LA to pursue a new life. Airplanes and I don't mix, but I can tolerate it.

We took our seats and I closed my eyes. "Welcome to United Airlines! We are en route to Los Angeles and we will arrive there in 4 and a half hours. We hope you enjoy this flight and we hope you fly with us again!" The airplane began to move down the run way then started to speed up until all of the wheels were off the ground. Suddenly I felt pressure in my lower stomach. The seat belt sign went off and I sprinted for the bathroom. After a few minutes of using the restroom I decided to go back to my seat and take some anti-nausea meds.

I started to walk back and I noticed a guy I was on my way to the bathroom, but this time he seemed more unsettled and anxious. It was really creepy because he did not look like he was from the United States. In my mind I tried not to stereotype him, but he just looked extremely suspicious.

As soon as I got back I noticed my boyfriend was not in his seat, but I sat down anyways. A few seconds later Eli reappears, but situates himself on his knee in front of me with a black box in his hand. "Clare Diane Edwards, will you spend the rest of your life with me and be my wife?" I sat there stunned and surprised as everyone around us cheered me on to say yes. "YES!" I screamed. He jumped up; I quickly pulled him in to an embrace then kissed him with passion. Everyone cheered and smiled as we stare at each other in amazement as he slipped the ring on my finger.

A few minutes passed by as I just sat in my seat staring at my ring. I felt the plane jolt of a sudden, and then a flight attendant ran through the aisle with a look of fear on her face. The plane kept jolting from side to side and to the front. There were a few screams, but it was probably from the turbulence. "Hey I'm going to go check out what's going on up there." Eli slid passed me and up the aisle.

I looked around and saw someone walking from the front of the plane with a look of sheer terror on their face. Everyone crowed around him and begged him for information. "Someone hijacked the plane. They killed the pilot." Everyone began to scream and freak out. I crawled back into my seat and grabbed my bag, but I stopped dead in my tracks when looked out the window. We were about to fly through New York City. I grabbed the on flight phone in the seat in front of me and pressed the emergency button. "Hello? Hello? We are about to fly through New York City. Oh my god we are getting close to the buildings. Oh my god…." The phone cut off on the operators end.
