It was a good day at the Arbuckle house and not a worry clouded Garfield's mind. He had a few hours of peace which he planned to spend sleeping in his litter box. Jon took Liz to the outlet mall a few counties over to buy new socks and they said they were going return at supper time with the promised treat of Garfilld's favorite food: pizza. Garfield made sure to set his alarm for that.

As for the others, Odie was passed out in another room after a rousing game of 'kick Odie off the table' which ended when Garfield got distracted by a crazy spider who tried to make fun of his weight. He managed to chase the spider down and give it a good "SMACK!" but not before making fun of the spider's mother.

The next Monday was many days away and the last time the postman brought Nermal back from the post office, Garfield saw John bury the box in the backyard. Yes, Garfield didn't have a care in the world. He yawned quietly and was ready to sleep when he heard the doorbell ring.

"Nah, I won't open it up, who cares?" Garfield thought to himself. The doorbell awoke Odie and he started to bark. It sounded urgent. This roused Garfield and he walked to the door to see who it was. Arlene was at the door. Somewhat happy but also annoyed, Garfield opened the door.

"Hi," said Arlene "we need to talk."

"Um, okay…how have you been I haven't seen you in a while," replied Garfield.

Garfield let Arlene in the house and she took a look around.

"Where's Nermal?" asked Arlene, "he was here last time I was here."

"I don't know where he is," said Garfield, "all I know is that Jon thanked me for sending him to the farm. He sounded sarcastic. I thought I sent him to Abu Dhabi."

"Garfield, I have something to tell you….I'm pregnant."

A mixture of emotions welled up inside of Garfield and it all resulted in a smile.

"That's great," replied Garfield, "I hope they look like me but with your lips."

"Well, that's the thing. The kittens…they're not urs. I think," she said.

The expression on Garfield's face turned from happy to shock.

"What?" said Garfield.
"I don't know Garfield…it's that all you really care about is yourself, so I started seeing other cats…and well…that's why I want to know where Nermal is…the kids…are his."

At this realization, Garfield said, "I don't know where the farm is…" then he fainted.
