Link called upon the power of the sages to reach Gannondorf's castle. Once inside, he broke the seals and charged through multitudes of gruesome beasts and made his way up to the tower.
Once at the top, several loud, hollow notes reached his ears, and the door opened to reveal Gannondorf sitting on an organ bench. Link silently wondered how the Dark Lord had come to learn to play such a noble instrument. He would never be able to listen to an organ again… that is… if he lived…
Out of nowhere, almost as if called their master's song, two moblins appeared, brandishing clubs as they advanced on Link. Link reached over swiftly, where two ornamental daggers hung on the wall, whipping them from their sheathes and hurling them at the moblins. The first dagger struck true, and the moblin crumpled into a heap on the floor. The second dagger was blocked by the other moblin's club and went flying toward the organ pipes instead, burying itself into the cold metal. In the same fraction of a second, Link whipped out the Master Sword and struck the moblin full in the chest, the thing releasing a horrid cry of pain.
Link grinned boyishly with satisfaction, momentarily forgetting about Gannondorf… until the music stopped. Link whirled around, to find Gannondorf facing him, with a very calm expression on his face.
Gannondorf's menacing voice rang out in the chamber, "These toys are too much for you… give them to me!" A cynical smile spread across his face, marring his features.
A narrow shock of lightening barely missed Link's shoulder, and fried Navi instead, but the little bug wouldn't give up. She zipped over to a corner of the room with the last of her strength to the princess who had remained unnoticed in a pink crystal until this moment. Navi used all of the strength she could summon and released Zelda, the fragments of the crystal flying everywhere. Both princess and fairy collapsed.
Gannondorf flew into the air, and sent a shockwave through the chamber so that half of the floor fell through into the room below. Link narrowly managed to leap from his section of the floor and land on a solid piece close to the wall. But Zelda and Navi weren't so lucky.
"Get out of here!" Link shouted down to them, "The tower is going to collapse!"
Gannondorf shot three more lightening bolts at Link, and our hero dodged skillfully, but the bolts sank into the floor and the stone started to fall away, and he was forced onto the center platform where the Dark Lord was waiting for him.
Link yanked out his boomerang and hurled it at his foe's head. In a stroke of pure luck, Gannondorf fell to the ground. Gannon yanked out his sword, and with a dangerous grin, impaled Link on the black, glowing blade.
Link gritted his teeth, and with his dying breath, raised a shaking arm and ran the Master sword through Gannondorf's stomach. Link looked toward the window, knowing it would be over soon. Just as everything started to go dark, he caught a glimpse of Zelda and Navi escaping safely… and Gannon's dark shape rising off of the floor, shuddering in pain but very, very alive.
