Lora Gordon sat in her new office looking at the logo on the wall behind her desk. She was trying to calm herself after an awful morning she had. A flat tire on her car, spilled coffee on her dress forcing her to buy a new one on the way to work, and she got lost getting off at the wrong floor in the office building. But, she was here, finally. She made it. After all these years working in low-level production companies, talent booking agencies, and scraping her way to the top, she was here. She sat on the couch in the room frozen in her seat. "Why the hell am I so nervous. I'm a 35-year-old woman. Not some damn child. Lora, you worked your ass off to get here. Stop being such a basket case." She tried one of her personal pep talks. It wasn't working. She could not get the nerve up to go sit in that office chair under that black, silver, and red logo.

She slowly made her way over to the desk. On the desk, the nameplate read Executive Assistant, Lora Gordon. She sat in her office desk chair and took the nameplate in her hand. "Oh, God. What am I doing here?" She felt a wave of fear over her. She had been trying to shake it since she left Kentucky. "Stop, Lora. You belong here. I can't believe I landed this job. I never thought I would get this. I figured I would end up answering phones or some boring crap like that."

Not knowing who the new Executive Vice President of Talent is, was not making things any easier. It actually made her more nervous. She had no idea what her new boss would be like. Was it going to be the owners family or some stiff shirt corporate jerk? She turned her chair to the wall with the logo and stood running her fingers over it. She took out her phone and snapped a selfie with the WWE logo over her head. "Well, you wanted this. Now what? Ballbusting career woman. You left everything behind. Hope you're ready for this" She said to herself.

Lora grabbed her purse and took out some money for the vending machine. She had already taken the tour of the building and had her orientation that morning. Today was her first official day at work. She knew her boss had been out of town when she was interviewed but, wasn't sure when she would meet the person she was working for or the McMahon family. The thought of meeting the owner, Vince McMahon, alone scared her to death. She knew her job well but, this was the big leagues. Not some little local tv station or talent agency.

Lora had been informed that a lot of changes had taken place and her role would be working with the VP of talent and development as his assistant. Which meant traveling and, long hours. In her excitement, she didn't even think to ask who she would be working for. She had expected to be interviewed or even skype with the new boss. But, it never happened. She just assumed that her new boss must be Shane McMahon, maybe John Leonidas, or someone big in the company she had heard of before. She was a huge WWE fan and knew everything from in the ring, backstage, to the corporate players. Since her dream was always to work here she made it her job to know everything from talent to stock market information. Since some of the new changes in leadership, she wasn't sure what to expect.

Lora made her way to the break room area down the hall. She couldn't believe she was on the same floor as Vince himself. Passing Stephanie McMahon's office across from hers she rolled her eyes. Lora had never liked Stephanie's character and, really hoped in real life she was a little nicer. Lora didn't think anyone could fake being that much of a bitch though.

Putting the money in the machine she pressed the button for a water. The bottle stuck in the machine and, she shook it to try to get it loose. "Are you kidding me?! What else can happen today?" She ran her hands through her long brown hair.

Someone came from behind and hit it hard with their fist and it dropped to the opening. "It sticks sometimes. You have to show it who's boss." She reached over and grabbed her water and the man went over and stuck money in the slot.

"Thanks." Turning around she came face to chest with a tall man in a suit with a very broad chest. "Oh sorry." He grabbed her arms to steady her as she lost her balance slightly. Looking up she looked into the smiling eyes of none other than Triple H. Her mouth dropped and eyes got wide. "Oh shit!"

He snickered, "I get that a lot." Lora moved out of the way to let the man get his drink. "You new here?"

"Umm. Yes. Just started. Thanks for the help." She grinned at him shyly and, headed back to her office looking back taking in the handsome man's brooding good looks. Hunter looked over his shoulder seeing the woman blush and, went back to get his own water from the machine.

Lora rushed back into the office shutting the door behinds her. "HOLY CRAP! That was Triple H. Damn he is even hotter in person. If I had to work with that every day I'm pretty sure I would get nothing done. Stephanie is a lucky woman." A knock came at the door and Lora went to answer it.

An intern was standing there with hands full of paperwork. "I was told to give you these and, tell you there is a meeting in the boardroom in five."

"Thanks." Lora took the disheveled paperwork and, flipped through it seeing a list of roster names with the title NXT at the top. "Humm? What is NXT?" She grabbed what she would need for the meeting and headed to the boardroom.

Lora made her way to the meeting shuffling papers and not paying attention to her surroundings. She struggled to get her paperwork straight. She though the intern must have thrown it in a tornado before handing it to her. Trying to grab the door handle she lost her grip and all the papers fell on the floor. "What the hell?! Geez. I can not catch a break." She rubbed her temples and reached down to gather up the papers.

"Bad day? We really have to stop meeting like this." Hunter smirked. "Here, let me help you." He leaned over helping her pick up the papers. Hunter picked up the roster paper looking it over. He smiled handing it back to her.

"Thank you Mr...I'm not sure what to call you." She smiled an embarrassed smile.

"Levesque." He opened the door for her and she made her way in sitting at the back of the room next to another assistant who trained her. She smiled at the man and, went back to fixing her paperwork.

The boardroom was filled with a few executives and some people she recognized. Vince McMahon and Paul "Triple H" Levesque aka Hunter sat at the front of the table. Lora just sat quietly as the men chatted and joked with each other. Finally, the one everyone had been waiting on walked in. Stephanie came in with a very smug look across her face waiting to get noticed. She looked around the room noticing the new girl and looked her over like she was not impressed. The girl was averagely pretty but, plain looking. Steph could see Lora looked frumpy and, out of place. Lora wore a basic blue dress suit nothing special and was sort of bland. Stephanie rolled her eyes.

"Nice of you to join us Steph. Thirty minutes late, as always." Hunter shook his head. Lora couldn't help but, notice the sudden awkward silence in the room.

"Well, Paul. Unlike you, I have more to do than play around in the ring. I actually work here."

"Doing what? Posting selfies and, shopping with my credit cards. That princess...isn't work." Hunter said snidely.

Vince spoke up. "Ok, you two, That's enough. We need to get this going."

Hunter agreed, "Right. The NXT roster is looking good. I think we have some real new talent started….DAMN, where is that roster sheet?"

Lora looked down seeing her copy and quickly got up and handed it to Hunter. Without looking at her he took it and started going over talent. When Vince was talking about one of the talents Hunter looked over to her and mouthed the word 'thanks' and winked at her. She smiled and shook her head in agreement while redoing her hair up in a bun and, adjusting her large frame glasses.

Steph saw Hunter looking at the woman and, got annoyed. Why was he checking out this plain looking woman? "So, no one going to acknowledge there is someone sitting in this meeting that, I for one, have never seen before. Who are you?"

Vince looked up from the paper Hunter was showing him. "Oh yes! Ms. Gordon right? Lorrrr...sorry what is your name again?"

"It's Lora Gordon, Mr. McMahon." She stood up so she could address him properly.

"Oh yes. Everyone, this Paul's new assistant. " Her eyes widened. Hunter looked up fast and over to her. Stephs mouth dropped.

"Sir?" Lora asked.

"Oh that's right, you two haven't been introduced. Paul, this is your new executive assistant. You have been on the road and didn't get to interview her. You two can catch up later. We have work to do. Steph, you need to apologize to Ms. Gordon. I should have introduced you to the room sooner." Vince said smiling.

"Oh, it's fine. I'm glad to meet everyone. I look forward to working here." She sat back down adjusting her frumpy skirt that was a little too big for her small frame.

"I'm sure you do." Steph crossed her arms glaring at her. She didn't like one bit that Hunter's new assistant was a woman. Hunter just rolled his eyes at Steph.

They continued their meeting and Steph kept her eyes on Lora the whole time. She caught Lora looking at Hunter a few times. After the meeting, Steph went over to Lora. "Don't get too comfy here. You won't last long. From the looks of you, you don't really fit in."

"Excuse me, Mrs. McMahon?" Lora looked confused.

"You'll be working the mail room soon enough. Where girls like you belong. Paul doesn't need any...assistance." Steph crossed her arms in an intimidating tone.

"Wow...ok...I'm sorry to seem out of line Mrs. McMahon but, I'm very good at my job and very professional. I'm not sure what you are implying but, I have a job to do. I have yet to even properly be introduced to my boss yet. I have no disrespect or poor intent in any way. Now if you'll excuse me, I have some paperwork to attend to. Have a wonderful day." Lora stepped out of the room and went down the hall to her office.

Stomping in the room. "What a bitch!" She slammed her paperwork on her desk.

"Tell me about it." A voice came from behind her. Lora jumped and turned fast seeing Hunter sitting on the couch with his legs crossed.

"Oh my gosh. You scared the crap outta me!" She grabbed at her rapidly beating heart.

Hunter got up and walked over to her extending his hand. "Sorry to startle you. I wanted to come in to introduce myself. So the girl with the bad day is my assistant. Hope that news isn't part of your bad day." He smiled.

"Oh no. That's the only good part so far. I didn't know you were corporate now? I'm Lora. Nice to finally meet you." She shook his hand. "Sorry about...I shouldn't have said that about her."

Hunter rubbed his chin. "Well, can't say I disagree with you."

"But, she's your wife. I was out of line." She looked embarrassed.

"Don't remind me. And, no it's fine. She was rude to you. She always is. She just hates that you're a woman and, to be frank. She likes to have the attention focused on her. Don't take it too personally. She thinks she owns me and, wants everyone paying attention to her at all times." Hunter stood looking at her making Lora very uncomfortable.

An awkward silence followed. It seemed like forever. He crossed his arms and leaned against her desk with just a cheesy smirk on his face. She started looking around the room just wondering why he wasn't saying anything. Biting her lip and a little unsure what to do or say. She started to sway back and forth not sure how to react to the awkward silence. He just stood smiling and started to laugh a little. "Nervous?"

"Umm. No." She started fidgeting with a paper on her desk. Why was he just staring at her like that? She thought.

"You sure?" Hunter teased. She shook her head yes. A few seconds later she couldn't take any more.

"Ooo...kay. Umm. Was there something you needed?" Trying to break the silence.

He just smiled. "How long would you have stood there waiting for me to say something?" He joked.

She giggled realizing he was messing with her, "Not sure."

"There's a smile. See, today's not all bad now is it?" He winked. "I'm just messing with you. A little hazing for the new girl in town. Hey, listen. Want to go grab some lunch? We can go back to where our romantic first date was. Back down to the lovely WWE vending machine. I can buy you a Snickers and Coke. Or the most delicious variety of crap courtesy of the WWE cafeteria with the catering dejor of the day. Or, I could take you to someplace good. Thought we would sit and chat about the job. I'm starving." Hunter handed her her purse.

"I had the cafe' WWE mystery meat this morning for breakfast when I arrived. I think I'll pass on that." Lora joked.

"Oh, I see you have had the pleasure of the Chateau' De Cafeteria. You already stepped out on me huh? It was another man already. Who was he? What does he have that I don't?" He leaned over to her with his sly smile.

"Sorry, I couldn't resist. The janitor. He makes my heart swoon. He has everything. A mop, bucket, all the urinal cakes a girl could ever want." She batted her eyes. "My dream man."

"Damn it. I lose more chicks to that dude. It must be the scent of pine sol and, his never-ending access to the toilet paper rolls." Hunter laughed.

"Well, cleanliness is important to us gals." Lora started to feel a lot more at ease. Hunter was going out of his way to make her smile.

"I think we are going to get along great, Ms. Gordon. Come on. I'll take you someplace good. How you feel about the dumpster behind the McDonalds I hear they have great burgers. They have the meat sit right under the heat lamp for at least six hours. But, we might have to fight off the hobos. How's your right hook?"

"Well, sounds delightful Mr. Levesque. I'll even chip in for the half eaten apple pie for dessert. I have a mean uppercut." She giggled.

"See that's, what I'm talk'n bout!" Hunter escorted her out of the room and to the elevator.

Just as the doors started to close Stephanie stuck her hand in to open it back up. "Where do you think you are you going...Hunter?" She said with a snide attitude.

"Not sure yet. Let me know where you will be and, I'll be sure to go to any place but there." He pushed her hand off the door and hit the close button. Steph stood snarling.

Lora looked uncomfortable. Hunter piped up, "See! You were right. Total bitch."

She looked a little uneasy about his comment. Why were these two so rude to each other? For a married couple, they sure didn't act like it. Lora thought.
