Surprising Discoveries Revisited

Galinda was trying to place the last ornament on the tree but couldn't quite reach where she wanted it. She soon felt a hand at the small of her back as another green hand took the ornament from her and hung it on the tree. Elphaba leaned her head down and whispered in Galinda's ear. "Are you sure you're not half Munchkin?"

Galinda partly turned, leaning away from the green girl and stuck her tongue out at her. "You're not that much taller than me."

"No, but just enough to tease." Elphaba said with a playful smirk. Galinda furrowed her brow and gave a scowl pretending to be mad before breaking into a smile. She leaned back in and kissed the green girl as she placed her hands upon Elphaba's hips, gently pulling her closer. Elphaba reciprocated the kiss, her one hand still light upon the blonde's back as she took her free hand and held the side of Galinda's face.

As they broke from the kiss, they both continued to just gaze into each other's eyes as Elphaba stroked the blonde's cheek with her thumb. Galinda could never quite get over how much she loved the woman standing in front of her. She always got lost in those deep brown eyes that seemed to bore into her soul with love and protection. "My Elphie." Galinda let escape from her lips.

Elphaba kissed her softly. "Always."

Galinda wrapped her arms around Elphaba, laying her head upon her chest. Elphaba engulfed the blonde in her arms and held her securely as she laid her chin on Galinda's head and closed her eyes.

It was Galinda who was the first to move from the embrace as she caught sight of the picture of the two of them that she gave Elphaba last year. She walked over to it and picked it up. "I can't believe it has been a year since that day I told you." She turned to look back at Elphaba. "Do you ever wonder what would be if I hadn't said anything?"

"No, I don't see the point really." Elphaba stated as she walked over to Galinda and took the picture from her, placing it back down on the table. "And technically you didn't actually say anything… You kissed me."

"Technicality." Galinda said waving her hand in the air.

"No I think that makes it perfectly acceptable to throw that question out on the grounds that the question has already been answered. One doesn't have to wonder what would be because you actually didn't say anything, which in turn lead us to now." Elphaba ended with a smirk as Galinda just threw her arms up in defeat. "Besides, why are you even thinking about things that never happened?"

"I don't know, I just am." Galinda placed her hands on either side of Elphaba's face. "So humor me." She then gave the green girl a quick kiss.

"Or you could humor me and drop this alternate past you wish to harp on and lets just enjoy the peace and quiet." Elphaba placed her finger on Galinda's nose. "You get the book we were reading and turn on the lamp by my bed while I go turn off the other lights."

Galinda scrunched her nose but didn't argue. She turned the lamp on by the bed and went to the bookshelf to find the book they were enjoying the other night. Elphaba went to her desk to turn off the lamp there and then turned off the main light. She made her way back over to the bed and situated the pillows along the headboard.

Once she was propped up and settled she patted the bed for Galinda to join her. The blonde handed her the book before getting on the bed. She curled up next to Elphaba and wrapped her arm around the green girl.

"Comfortable?" Elphaba asked as she looked for the page they stopped at.

Galinda snuggled in closer. "Very."
