James and OC

"Potter! Go away!" Lily shouted in front of the Great Hall. She was looking at a kneeling James with flowers in his hands. "Lily, why?" he asked with a bit of hurt in his eyes.

"Potter, just go away, leave me alone. How long will it take for your small brain to register that I hate you and want nothing to do with you?"

The hall was silent even the Slytherins were not making a sound or a comment. James was slowly standing up. Putting the flowers on the floor and looking up at her. "Okay, I'll leave you alone" his voice was very quiet, but because the Hall was so silent - everyone heard it.

James turned around and left the hall without glancing back, once. As soon as he left a girl with long violet hair and ocean blue eyes stood up. She walked up to Lily whose face held a frightened expression. "How dare you? HOW DARE YOU?!" she shouted "You selfish bitch. Was it that hard to say yes? Was it? James has been chasing you for six bloody years!"

"Clara, I - " Lily pleaded.

"Don't you Clara me, Evans. James is a much better friend than you, so don't even think that I'll take your side in this. He's been in love with you for 6 years. How could you do this? Every time you turn him down can't you see the hurt in his eyes? But did he give up? No. Because he had hope that you would say yes. How could you do this to him?" Clara finally said.

She fled the Hall. Everyone stood there quietly all eyes on Lily who was red in the face. She fled the hall as well.

"James! James! "shouted Clara. She ran to the astronomy Tower because she knew it's James's favorite place to be when he's upset.

She climbed the stairs and saw a loan figure sitting on the edge, head hung low. Clara sat next to him

"Am I not good enough?" he said in a quiet voice

"No what are - "

"Listen am I that horrible? I know I can be an idiot, stubborn - "

She put a hand on his arm.

"James?" he looked up for the first time. "Huh?"

"You're an amazing person and even a better best mate. Stop your self-pity and shut up"

She laid her head on his shoulder and watched as the sun set.

"Thank you" James said looking in the distance.

"Anytime"
