A/N: I haven't been on for a long time...whoops.
Disclaimer: I don't own Ansatsu Kyoushitsu.
"Nagisa! Do you want to try my new pudding do you do you?" Kayano comes flying through the classroom door in a blur of green and grey and smashes her side into Kataoka's table. Nagisa blinks once, trying to comprehend what just happened in the span of five seconds, before hurrying over to help her up. She waves him away, and stands up by herself, excitement painting a blush on her cheeks.
"So, what say you? It's a new flavour of pudding I developed by myself! Hours of working late at night, watching beloved puddings collapse before my very eyes, scraping away collapsed pudding to eat later on...all has come to fruition," Kayano shoves a plate of pudding before Nagisa's face, and annouces, "behold the sushi pudding!"
The class is silent until Maehara speaks, "Isn't it just a piece of sushi on top of a normal pudding?"
"It takes precise calculations to balance the sushi on top of the pudding! Pudding collapses easily if you're not careful, you know!" She fixes Maehara with a glare that speaks it all and he shrinks away, defeated.
"Uh...are you really sure you want me to try this...'new flavour of pudding'? Not Kurahashi-san, or even Hara-san?" Nagisa gently prods. Kurahashi Hinano was the go-to for Kayano if she ever found a new dessert, and she occasionally approached Hara to see if her new puddings tasted good. Yet Nagisa found himself the target of this new flavour (which was in fact, a sushi atop a pudding).
"Yep! I never knew how hard it was to balance something heavy like sushi until I tried it! Since you like sushi, I thought you might like this!" Kayano shoves plate and spoon in front of Nagisa again, silently urging him to take it.
"If you say so then..." Nagisa gingerly takes the spoon and scoops off a piece of the dessert, eats it, then takes the sushi and bites down.
It tastes like...pudding and sushi.
"How does it taste like?" Kayano eagerly leans forward, apprehensive about this new flavor.
"It tasted good, I guess." Not wanting to spoil her excitement, Nagisa smiles and lies. It's a white lie, he decides, because he certainly doesn't want her to go around sacrificing her sleep for this 'new flavour of pudding'.
His lie makes it through, and she punches the air in victory before handing him the entire plate, suggesting that he should finish it since he likes it so much.
"..." He stares down at the dessert, unsure of what to do with it.
Karma sidles up next to him, a carton of strawberry milk in his hands and peers down at the plate. "Well," he starts casually, "this is a first."
"What?"
"Kayano-chan's never made any of us pudding. Especially," he coughs and aims a sly look at Nagisa, "pudding with a certain food that a certain someone likes."
"K-Karma-kun!"
In the end, he finishes it anyway.
