Like Pieces In A Puzzle:

Pink is Lucy's favourite colour. It speaks of softness, love, kindness. She owns three pink dresses, her mother's, which she keeps locked away for a special occasion. She's always liked it.

Natsu's favourite colour isn't red or even silver as some people assume. It's yellow. Because yellow is a sign of warmth, the sun, fire, happiness. He's always liked it.

Lucy likes to smile.

Natsu likes it when people smile.

Lucy is a sucker for romance. She believes that there is always one special person whom you meet- and just know. You know- Prince Charming, Mr. Perfect. Her beliefs only grow stronger with each passing day.

Natsu will never admit it, but he's always wondered if he'd find someone. Someone to fall in love with. Someone he can protect and take care of. He likes playing hero. And if there is that special princess (there is), he'd be the knight in shining armour (he is). He's stopped wondering now.

Lucy loves stories. Adventure, Romance, Mystery, Horror- she's read them all. The only thing she enjoys more than reading is telling stories. Lucy is a storyteller. She especially loves the stories where the boy falls in love with his best friend.

Natsu doesn't like books. He hates 'em. He hasn't even read the most basic books in the guild library. But he doesn't mind it when people tell him new things. Sometimes, when someone at the next table is telling a story, he'll sit down quietly and listen. His favourite story is the one in which the girl rescues a dragon and kisses him, breaking a spell, revealing him to be a magician's apprentice.

When she gets married, Lucy wants a son. Just one son. Sometimes, she imagines him with pink hair.

Natsu has decided that when he gets married, he wants as many children as possible (he'd say four, actually. But he'll never admit that he's thought about it.). He wants some of them to be blonde.

Lucy never liked toast. Without butter, it was too dry, with butter it was too fattening. Now, she has found a way she likes it: burnt.

One day, after catching a brief whiff of some shampoo around Fairy Tail, he found himself eating a lot of apples. Which is strange, because he never liked 'em earlier, did he?

Lucy is in love with a certain pink-haired fire mage.

Natsu is in love with a blonde-headed stellar mage.

And so they fit, like pieces in a puzzle. Joint one chilly night, by a hot fiery kiss in the middle of the crowded guild room. Two red faces, two intertwined hands, oblivious to catcalls and the strong smell of fish. Two lives intertwined, two best friends, two people completely and utterly in love.

Later, under the starry sky, she whispers, "I love you."

They turn red again, and even as he looks up at the stars, his eyes are filled with something unexplainable. "I love you too."
