They watched Jadis close the door on the broken city of Charn, they did.

They watched the red sun as it cast it's final rays of dull light on the forgotten ruins of Charns, Polly and Digory did. They left before the palace collapsed in on iteself, and the grand, high walls of the city fell into each other, deteriorating into nothing. They saw the doors close on the city, but they didn't see the city end.

Charn was beautiful, once- but how were they to know that? Were they to know that it could be salvaged, any part of it?

Of course not. And Jadis got her way.

They watched Narnia begin, they did. They watched as the Great Lion sang every animal, every flower, every living being into existence. They watched as rivers and lakes dug themselves and filled with water clearer than anything in London; they watched the grass grow, greener than the finest apple on Earth. They witnessed the first king and queen be crowned. They watched a world begin, and they didn't mind so much when it was Aslan who got his way.

They never saw England begin. They had been taught that God had created the world, and the had had the Cosmological Argument drilled into their brain. They didn't think the'd see it end. Although they supposed they would, when they were in Aslan's country, watching over Susan and their other friends for years, until they died and Susan came back and they watched their friend's children, and so on.

They saw Narnia end. They saw the rocks give way, the lakes overflow and the grass die. They witnessed the sky go grey and then black, and the stars fall to the ground. They watched the floor crumble and tun to dust, and they watched everything that felt like home dissapear.

They watched this world begin, but they never thought they'd see it end.

watch it begin, and watch it end,

for this world's beauty is gone, my friend.

please review!

also, the Cosmological Argument is a theory saying that there must be a uncaused first cause, which created everything else, and some say this case is God.
