I have only read The City of Bones and this is my first attempt at Malec. Please be lenient!
Disclaimer: I am not Cassandra Claire. So sad!
"Here, Alexander," Magnus said and handed a piece of paper to the blue eyed man.
Alec took the paper. As he read it, he started going green.
"Not another party!" Alec groaned.
"Well, Chairman Meow has found his life partner! What better reason to celebrate?!" Magnus asked. Alec shifted his eyes to the cat. For a moment, he thought that Chairman Meow actually blushed.
"And where is his 'life partner'?" Alec asked.
Magnus laughed loudly and produced a whistle from the pocket of his flowery shirt.
The warlock winked at Alec and whistled. Alec heard a sound of soft footfalls and turned towards the stairs. His eyes widened.
A grey British Shorthair was making her way towards Chairman Meow. Magnus had tied a pink satin ribbon around her neck. As the cat came near him, Chairman Meow really looked as red as tomatoes.
"So…" Alec said after the two cats started playing together, "They are getting married at the party?"
"No married. No," Magnus replied cheerfully, "They will get engaged."
"I see," Alec said though he did not see at all. How were two cats supposed to get engaged? How would they wear rings? However, Alec did not ask these questions, since he knew that Magnus would probably have an answer.
The two men watched the cats for a while. They were so good together. Alec wondered when he would be living so freely with Magnus. Will that day ever come?
"Oh, it will surely come," Magnus replied. Alec raised his brows.
"Your face gives you away, Alexander."
The two men again turned to the cats.
"You…you do love me, right?" Alec asked quietly.
Magnus turned his head to face the boy.
"Of course I do. And I know you love me too."
Alec looked into Magnus' eyes and he knew the warlock wasn't lying.
He stood up and walked over to Magnus, who too rose to his feet.
Magnus took him in a loving embrace. Alec felt blessed, happy and safe.
"I love you, Magnus," he whispered.
"I love you too, Alec," Magnus replied.
The two released each other and noticed that the cats had stopped playing to stare at them curiously. Magnus giggled.
"You know what, I am inviting my friends to the party," Alec announced.
"Sure. Come on Alexander, I will show you their engagement rings."
Alec smiled at Magnus and followed him upstairs.
