The sun entering on the spot of the room looked so alive, but for Annie it wasn't like that. Since she lost Finnick, everything seems gray. It already made three months since the day he died, but still seems it was like yesterday when she found out.
One by one everybody was coming out of the hovercraft. Annie was looking with sparkles in her eyes, just waiting for the tall boy with bronze hair and sea-green eyes. But it wasn't what happened, everybody came out except Finnick. Katniss was the last one who got out before the hovercraft took off going to another destiny. Anne wasn't stupid she could connect the dots, but she didn't want to see the truth.
"No, it can't be." Annie repeated over and over in her head.
She ran over Katniss and looked in her eyes with the last hope she had in her. Katniss didn't know what to say, so she looked to the ground with pain in her eyes. Annie lost her balance, she fell on her knees and burst into tears.
She was in her bedroom in the corner, looking to the ground lost in thoughts, the guard outside was staring at her. Since Annie found out and her mental condition wasn't very stable, she had tried many times to kill herself. By that fact Katniss decided that someone had to keep an eye on her. But the things were becoming hard since no one known if Annie was going to keep in her state or if she would get over it.
Annie keep remembering moments she had with Finnick, since the moment she meet him to her marriage, a little smile crept on her face, but her happy memories were interrupted by a knock on the door. The guard entered with the dinner in his hands replacing another one which was left untouchable, he looked at her and she was shrunken with her head on her knees and very thin. She hadn't been eating for some days. The guards had tried to put something in her stomach, sometimes it was successful, but had times that Annie starts to throwing up.
The guard left and Annie continued didn't moving, she just looked at the tray, the smell hit her nose and she ran to the bathroom, throwing up just liquid since she hadn't been eating. She got up but she felt dizzy, noticing what was happening when everything went black.
The sound of loud "beeps" made her head hurt and the thing that was in her arm was piercing, she just wanted it to stop. Opening her eyes and looking around noticed she was on a hospital room.
-Finally, you woke up. - The doctor entered in the room. - Seems like you had a difficult time.
He came closer to see her, but she started to take back, she didn't know who he was, she didn't trust this guy.
-Calm down, I'm not going to hurt you. Let me see your serum, it seems you didn't ate so much.
She let him come closer, but preferred not answer to him.
-Well, it's okay if you don't want to talk with me, since you pass through so much. I know you still must be in a depressive state, but I have an advice for you, continue eating, I think the little one inside you wants to see the world.
Annie didn't know how to react she noticed her belly which was a bit round.
-Anyway, congratulations. –Said the doctor before came out of the room.
She was so sad with Finnick death that she didn't notice that another life was being formed inside her. Annie looked with kind in her eyes at her belly and thought.
"Yes, I still have a reason to live."
