It was late in London, around 3 in the morning and most people were asleep. They had shut their lights off, put on their pajamas and had slipped into their beds but not Harry Potter. Sitting at the table in the kitchen of Number 12 Grimmauld Place, Harry worked tirelessly. He had put off work a lot in the last couple of days and now it had caught up to him. Everything he was working on either needed to be done by tomorrow or in the days proceeding. The reason he had not gone to work is because for the first time in months Ginny was in town and he had been spending time with her than working. Now it was coming back to haunt him.
Getting up from his table Harry poured himself some more tea. He wanted nothing more than to be upstairs with Ginny who was at the moment sleeping in his bed. But he was the Head Auror and there was work he had to do. Sitting down he sipped his tea and resumed his work.
The door to Grimmauld Place slammed loudly jerking Harry awake from a sleep he hadn't realized he'd been in. Whoever it was who had just entered his home was now running down the hall towards the kitchen. Harry grabbed for his wand which was in his pocket but before he could the person appeared. It was Ron. His face was that of utter sadness. There were tears streaming down his face and for a minute he just stood there in front of Harry crying.
"Ron, what's the matter?" Harry asked with concern.
"He's dead!" Ron shouted through his tears.
"Ron, who's dead?"
"GEORGE! THAT'S WHO! HE THREW HIMSELF OFF A BLOODY BUILDING THIS EVENING!" Ron shouts as he sinks to the ground. Harry goes over and wraps his arm around him to try and comfort him. Then all of a sudden Ginny is there wrapping her arms around him. She must have heard him come in and what he said because there are tears in her eyes.
It's hard to believe that George is really gone. After The Battle of Hogwarts he did become basically catatonic. He didn't say anything, he didn't go anywhere, he really didn't do much of anything. Harry thought he had been doing better especially recently. The joke shop was doing amazing and for the past year he had been dating Angelina Johnson. George was the last of the Weasley twins and now he was gone. There was now one more person among the dead caused by the Wizarding War.
