Natsu walked up the narrow pathway to Lucy's house.
'Why couldn't she live closer to the guild' he thought panting in the scorching hot sun of a beautiful summer day. He was going to bring Lucy to the Fairy Tail party that night and had left his suit there to change into.
Once he arrived to her house he politely knocked on the door and waited.
"Coming!" Lucy's voice came through the door. "Oh, wonderful Natsu you're here!" she said as soon as she saw him. She was gorgeous. She wore a floor length black dress with bright blue lace. It was the same blue that Natsu's tie and handkerchief were for his suit.
"May come in a get ready? We have to get going soon." He asked breaking the silence.
"Of course!" she replied and led him in.
While he got changed Lucy tried many different ways to do her hair. When Natsu came out in his lovely suit she was still toying with her hair.
"Lucy you should put it in a french braid. Maybe put blue ribbon in it. That would be simple and nice." He said touching her shoulder gently.
"I would but I can't do a french braid by myself."
He thought about this. " I could try" he said. "It doesn't seem hard." And he set to work. He had to redo it twice but he got it in the end. Tying it off in a blue ribbon he handed her the mirror so she could see.
She just smiled and turned around.
"Let's go" she said, and grabbed his hand.
As they walked to the guild holding hands they were quiet. Then suddenly Natsu stopped.
"I've been thinking Lucy, and be honest, but do you love me?" He asked with deep emotion. All she could do was blush and nod. Natsu smiled and bent over whispering 'I love you' in Lucy ear. Then their lips met and shared a kiss. When they broke apart Lucy said:
"We'll be late." Grinning they walked towards the guild and holding hands as the sun set into the horizon. Natsu would never forget his first kiss with the woman he loved.
