He loved him. And it was burning a hole through him. He shouldn't love him that way. It was wrong and incestuous, but he couldn't help what he was feeling. It wasn't his fault. It can't be controlled. Everyday when they were at the host club, Hikaru would clutch his face and whisper words of love and charm. They always made Kaoru blush, while his organs twisted together in a mass of happiness.

Then it would end shortly; when Hikaru would remove his hands from Kaoru's waist and walk away to talk with the boss or Haruhi. It made him sad to think that they were doing this for an act. Not for themselves. Not for love. Because they were told to. He was in love with his brother, and he knew his feelings would never be reciprocated. That Hikaru was in love with Haruhi, not him. He wanted to be mad at Hikaru, to not talk to him, and pretend it was nothing. Then again Kaoru wasn't like that. He knew it wasn't fair.

He knew Hikaru's feelings for Haruhi would never be recognized either. He would never be able to tell Haruhi, she would move on and find someone else. He knew that Hikaru would move on as well. Leave him behind, by himself. And the thought was more than he could bear.

That's why Kaoru fell into deep despair. It was a hard fall leaving him with many bruises, and scars. Maybe he wasn't strong enough, or maybe it was because he was afraid of being alone. So he found an easy solution. He vowed never to be alone.

And there was only one way to ensure that.

Muttering a small apology to Hikaru, Kaoru took a breath. Then everything was black
