Percy was so caught up in his conversation with Annabeth that he didn't notice Donald Stalks coming up behind her until Donny said, "Yo, betcha can't beat me at a practice war." Practice wars were exactly that - so Percy said "Sure, why not?"
Fifteen minutes later, Donny was beaten and Percy was exhausted.
"Nice job, Seaweed Brain."
"Uh-huh..." Percy panted.
"If you can take down Donny from the Ares cabin, can you take me down?"
"Not today," Percy said, slumping down on a bench. "If I fight you now you'll have me dead in ten seconds."
"Really? I don't think you'll last five," Annabeth said confidently.
"Oh that's it-" Percy started to lift Riptide and then dropped his prized sword for the first time in his life. "Oh my gods..."
Annabeth whipped around. "Wha-"
"Gods, Annabeth... she could almost be your clone!"
She was wearing a light blue blouse and old-looking jeans which made her neon-green sneakers stand out. She looked shocked, too.
"Hi, I'm new," the girl finally managed. "I'm Alex. Er.. where should I go?"
Annabeth came back to her senses. "Oh, uh, the big house. Here, I'll show you. By the way, I'm Annabeth, and that speechless guy over there is my boyfriend, Percy."
Alex laughed. Percy couldn't help thinking it was a cute laugh, but then he mentally slapped himself. "You like Annabeth, not her twin, remember?" he thought. So he went over how alike they looked in his head. Basically the exact same, except Alex had shocking green eyes as opposed to Annabeth's grey stony ones.
As soon as they stepped inside the big blue farmhouse Chiron's mouth dropped open. Then the centaur smiled. "You must be Alexandra Slyndrick, the English girl."
"Call me Alex, but yup, that'd be me."
"She doesn't sound very English," thought Annabeth.
"Well your appearance and Annabeth's are uncanny," Chiron remarked.
"Yeah, I got that part."
"Well, I suppose you'll go in the Hermes cabi-"
"Oh my freaking gods."
A faintly glowing blue-ish lightning bolt had appeared above Alex's head.
"Oh no," said Alex. .
