I'm not even going to explain why I changed the plot.

But, it's better than the last. Reach the bottom and read the Author's note please!

"Christopher, Christopher!" Lindsay Thorndyke exclaimed running through the front door of her mansion. She stopped and quickly tossed her heels off her feet and ran up the stairs, blonde hair flying behind her as she barged into her son's bedroom. Said boy had jumped up from his bed and braced himself for the 'Momma-Bear' hug that his mother would give him... but it never came. He peeked his eye open and put his arms down by his side when his Mother was standing in the doorway, a small smile on her face as she stood there trying to catch her breath. "Come downstairs, your Father and I have something to show you... where are Ella, Tanaka and your little animal friends?" She asked confusedly.

The brown haired child grinned at her. "You let them go off with Sonic and the others while they flew to Canada to get fresh maple syrup, remember?" He reminded her with a laugh. The woman placed a hand on her temple as she leaned against the wall.

"Oh," She laughed along, shaking her head. "With all the adoption papers finally coming in, and the excitement going on lately, I had totally forgotten!" Lindsay spun around and was about to leave as Chris ran up behind her.

His eyes widned as he stared at her gaping. "Adoption papers?"

The famous actor nodded and gripped Chris' shoulder with a frown. "Three months ago, your Father an I had went to a little city when we were on our honeymoon..." She trailed off. But she snapped back to reality as she looked Chris deep in the eyes. "This boy had been walking around shoe less and had been running away from a shopkeeper because he had stolen some bread from the deli. Turns out he was being abused and starved in the adopted family that had him," She whispered sadly. "So we followed him home after paying for the bread and watched his adoptive Mother hit him," She turned away. "So we called the C.P.A[1] and they came and took him away, they were going to bring him to the orphanage until your Father and I agreed to adopt him."

Chris nodded slowly as he took in the information. "When were you going to tell me about this?" He wondered sadly.

Lindsay gave him a small smile in return, her eyes gleaming with sadness before the two shook the sadness away.

"Does he know about Sonic and the others?" The boy asked. The Mother nodded before turning around again.

She gripped his shoulder tightly. "Would you make him feel at home? He's been through a lot, and I think he deserves a second chance."

Chris nodded eagerly and quickly followed after his Mother's stride. He trailed slightly behind her, a little afraid to see who the boy could be. He could be a murderer in disguise out to get his parents money- or Sonic! But he stopped at the bottom of the stairs when his Father walked in with a smaller black haired boy behind him.

He was small, especially for someone who seemed to be around his age. His black hair needed to be trimmed, his posture needed help and the sad expression on his face seemed to be stuck there. The red and white shirt hid his figure, along with the baggy jeans that practically hung off his frame. He was pale, and Chris was sure he was skinnier than he had ever been.

Nelson put a hand on the smaller boys' shoulder as he closed the door behind him, a suitcase following him, It was small and had a few tears in it, showing the old age it had. "Chris," His Father smiled. "Meet, Danny." Nelson smiled down to the boy and ruffled his hair, who looked up to him with a small smile before he reached up and fixed his black bangs before turning to Chris and Lindsay.

"Chris, would you mind showing Danny to the room next to yours? The one with the open ledge window?" Lindsay asked. A warm smile appearing on her face as she noticed the black haired child look around in awe. It was like it was his first time stepping into a candy store. She quickly noted that she'd take him and Chris there soon.

Chris nodded and grabbed the suitcase from his father's hand and looked to the boy as they started walking up the stairs. The now 13 year old Chris looked over to the black haired boy with a smile. "I'm Chris, but I guess you already know that," He started. "Our maid's, Tanaka and Ella are gone out now with a few friends of mine, so you can meet them later, alright?" He grinned and strutted forward, passing his bedroom door and to the one beside his.

The room was a pale white, a normal four walls, but had a wide three arched window in the middle of the room with a ledge to sit on, along with a balcony with a lawn chair and table to use. To the left of the window, a normal queen sized bed was set against the wall, a white and purple comforter and two big fluffy pillows. Beside the bed was a mahogany drawer with a lamp and note book. Two drawers were underneath, both with sliver knobs. Across the other side of the room, there were two doors. One was the walk in closet, while the other was Danny's own personal bathroom. Walk in shower, toilet, window and a small sink. Along with a small cupboard for towels and cloths.

Danny watched as Chris placed his small black beat up luggage by his bed before sitting himself on the ledge by the window. He crossed his legs and stared at the black haired boy before him. "Do you want to do anything? Play some games, go outside?" He asked. Danny bit his lip.

"Could I-" He cut himself off and sat on his bed looking down like a lost puppy. "Change first?"

Chris nodded and stood up and reaching for the door knob before he glanced back to his 'brother'. "I'm in the room to the left, knock when you're done."

Danny splashed his face with water as he stared at himself in the mirror. The white sweater he now wore was large and let himself have room while his black skinny jeans -that Lindsay and Nelson had bought him- hugged his legs while his new sneakers tied all the clothes together. He skimmed him fingers through his hair to brush it but also give it a natural look before turning and walking out of the bathroom. He remembered Chris saying he as next door and knocked on the door.

There was a shuffle from behind the door before it opened and there stood Chris. He hadn't changed, but his hair looked to be brushed more and he was holding a basketball. Danny grinned. He loved basketball.

"C'mon, it's a twenty minute walk to the court," Chris chirped as they walked down the stairs. Nelson had walked out from the living room and stopped the boys.

He reached into his pocket and handed Chris a cell. "Use that to call when you need someone to pick you up," He told Chris before he looked to Danny. "We'll get your stuff put away for you, just enjoy yourself, alright?" He grinned to the boy. Danny nodded and gave a grin right back before the two boys ran out the door and to the basketball court by the park.

Danny gripped the ball tight in his arms as he ran to the side, dodging Chris and shooting the ball into the net. "Score!" He exclaimed raising his arms above his head. Chris groaned and took the ball into his arms.

"How are you so good at this?" He bounced the ball in his arms before passing the ball to Danny who passed it back before the game started again.

Danny missed the ball by an inch as Chris dodged his arm and dribbled the ball. "Just am, always used to play with the kids around the block." Danny ran forward, knocked the ball from his adoptive brother's hands and shot it from half court. "Haha! I win!" He threw his head back in happiness. as he spun in a circle.

Chris grumbled before smiling as well. From the story his Mother had told him before, it didn't seem like Danny got a lot of happiness in his life. So he joined along with the laughter as they fell to the ground both exhausted.

"Thanks," Danny suddenly thanked him, turning to face Chris on his stomach.

Chris furrowed his brow. "For what?"

"Everything," Danny breathed. "I've never been so happy in my life, Father used to never let me outside. I had to sneak out all the time," Danny murmured. He blew a bit of his bangs out of his face as he flipped onto his back, Chris doing the same so they were side by side. Danny had his arms behind his head as Chris had the basketball keeping his head up. "He used to say he only adopted me for the money, so he could get his fix." Danny glanced towards Chris.

Chris stared sadly at Danny, his own blue eyes filling with sadness while Danny's were filled with despair. The two stared at each other, just staring into each other's eyes as they stared into each other's souls. The two seemed to be lost in each other's eyes, both looking beyond souls and deep into memories. Chris could swear he could see flashbacks of beatings from Danny. And the black haired boy could see Chris alone with two maids in his house.

They were both thrown out of each other's minds as the cellphone in Chris' pocket rang. Quickly, the two shuffled up to their feet as Chris answered the phone. "Hello?"

"Hey Chris, Sonic and the others got to the house ten minutes ago, I'm in the parking lot." Chris' Fathers voice came through the receiver. Chris nodded and replied that he and Danny were coming as he grabbed the ball by his feet and put the phone back in his pocket.

"Dad's in the parking lot, c'mon!" Chris said excitedly. "Sonic and the others at the house," He added as Danny caught up with him. The two boys started talking about sports and other things as they entered the car. They chatted for the car ride and started laughing at each other's odd jokes.

Danny laughed and threw his head back in amusement. "And the old man goes; 'Did I ever tell you about my def daughter? When she would swear I'd wash her hands with soap!' Haha," Danny laughed. Chris and Nelson laughed along with him as they pulled up to the mansion.

Nelson turned the car engine off and turned to the boys. "Why did the chicken cross the road?"

Chris stopped laughing. "I don't know,"

Nelson scratched his temple and blushed. "I uh... forgot?" He bit his lip and jumped out of the car while the boys started laughing because of his failure. The two boys followed behind Nelson as they entered the door, their laughing echoing off the walls. Nelson turned to them and glared playfully.

Danny and Chris leaned on each other as they walked into the living room. Danny and Chris finally caught their breath and stopped at the door when they noticed everyone looking to them. Danny froze and took a small, but noticeable step behind Chris as the animals, Chuck and Tanaka looked to him. Chris looked to him. "Want me to introduce you?" He whispered. Danny nodded thankfully to him. Chris walked in, letting Danny stay behind him as they walked in front of the T.V.

"This is awkward," Danny murmured to Chris. The red haired boy just giggled.

"Hey guys, this is Danny," Chris introduced. Danny gave a nervous wave.

Greetings were thrown left and right and Danny smiled brightly to all the new people he had just met. His eyes trailed over all of them and he received a positive vibe from all of them. Suddenly, the two tailed fox stood up and walked over, putting his hand out for a shake. "I'm Tails!" Danny reached forward and smiled brightly as they shook hands.

"Danny, nice to meet you." Tails grinned and his two tails wiggled behind him. Danny turned to Chris as he let go of the Fox's hand. "Hey, Chris? Can we get something to eat?"

Chris, who was speaking to Sonic at the moment, turned to Danny and nodded before walking over to the boy and heading into the kitchen. Ella following behind them. "What do you boy's want?" Ella asked washing her hands, and drying them onto the apron on her stomach.

Danny froze and turned to her in shock. "Y-You're going to cook... for us?" His tone was absolutely shocked.

Ella furrowed her brow and her mouth dropped as she walked over to the boy and put a hand onto his shoulder. "Yes, dear." She put a and on his cheek as she patted it, licking her finger and wiping away a bit of dirt on his face. Danny blushed and looked away as Ella giggled at him. "Now," She gave a pat onto his head and ruffled the hair onto his head. "What would you like?" She turned around and opened the fridge, staring at the contents inside.

"D-Do you need any help?" Danny stuttered. Ella shook her head before turning to Chris and pulling a bottle of water from the fridge and tossing it to him. She looked to Danny and motioned to the fridge. He just shook his head and sat on a stool by the counter.

Chris thanked Ella and walked to the door to the living room and turned back to Danny. "You coming?" He asked. Danny just shook his head and turned back to Ella. The raven haired boy just shrugged and took a swig of the water before walking back into the living room.

Danny's eyes studied Ella as she cooked. She had a song in her head that she hummed as she moved around the kitchen. He found it soothing as he laid his head on the counter. The song she was humming sounded strangely familiar, but he couldn't place his finger on it. Ella turned to him and gave a small smile before sliding a plate of cookies over to him. He sniffed them and his mouth watered as he went to pick one up. "Can I have one?" He asked shyly. Ella had turned back around and froze before facing him, a sad smile on her face.

"Of course, niño."[2] She whispered. Danny smiled gratefully at her and took a cookie from the plate and hummed in deliciousness as the cookie started to melt in his mouth. He quickly finished the first one off as he reached for a second one, looking up to Ella with a pout. She just nodded and pushed the plate closer to him. "All yours, eat as much as you want."

Twenty minutes later, Ella had cooked up some spaghetti and meatballs. She put some on each individual plate, putting extra on Danny's because the poor boy was surely under-weight. She spun around and put the used dished into the sink before walking into the living room. "Dinner!" She called as she walked back in. Instantly, she could hear the footsteps of everyone in the house thundering down the stairs and the cheerful chatter from them all.

"Thank you, Ella." Danny spoke up from behind her. Ella gave a grin to him and walked over to the kitchen counter where she grabbed a basket of home made bread and placed it on the table in front of him. His face lit up and reached and grabbed a bun and then the butter as he sogged it up with butter and took a large bite of it. Ella smiled at him and gave one last pat to his head as walked to the fridge to get some pepsi for Chuck and Nelson, while grabbing an ice lemon drink for Lindsay.

"Daniel! There you are!" Lindsay exclaimed as she pulled the messy faced Danny in for a hug. He choked and swallowed the food down before giving a small hug in return. When he let go and Lindsay walked to her chair, he noticed the jealous look on Chris' face and his heart stuttered along with his breath as he sunk lower in his seat. He didn't notice the blue hedgehog jump into the seat beside him and sink down in his chair with him.

Sonic clicked his tongue and waved his hand to catch Danny's attention. "What's wrong?" He asked in a whisper. Danny looked over to him with a blank look and shrugged. Sonic could see the dimness in Danny's blue eyes and scootched his chair closer.

"Confused I guess," He slurred. His bangs fell in front of his face, and he tried to blow them out of his face, but it wouldn't work which earned a chuckle from Sonic.

"Hey," Sonic murmured. "Why not meet me on the roof later? Get whatever's on your mind off your chest?"

The hedgehog could almost see the gears working overtime in the boys head as he stared into his eyes. The two seemed to be lost in each others eyes, total silence surrounding them. But the connection was broke when Danny looked away and nodded, giving a small grin to the blue being.

Now, Sonic couldn't stop glancing at the teen beside him. When he had looked into the teen's eyes... he saw something... but he wasn't sure what.

[1] CPA stands for Child Protection Agency. I don't know if it's a real place, but I don't own it if it is.

[2] niño stands for Child in Spanish.

So yeah, I thought I'd change everything because the other plot had no end. So I had my friend read the old chapters and tell me what was wrong, no matter how painful. And she said it sucked like anything. And she's a really good writer so I trusted her, and to be honest, the old story was pretty bad.

So here I am. I told you all I'd update before the end of March, so yeah, be grateful, because I don't know the next time I'll be able to update. But It will be in the month so shh and be grateful I just said that.

And, is it bad that I have an entire plot for this story... and a sequel? It keeps changing though! XD
