It was dark and calm on the Caribbean ocean. Only one ship was visible in its moonlit waters, the Black Pearl. Everyone and everything had been eerily silent for the last few minutes and the whole crew sat around on deck anxious. It seemed as if they were waiting for something.
Mr. Gibbs patted the back of a very worn out looking Jack Sparrow. Jack smiled at the old man's affection.
Jack's smile faded as his cabin door slowly opened and the whole crew stood at attention. Out of the cabin stepped a very haggard but happy Elizabeth, who motioned for Jack to come in. Behind Jack, Gibbs followed silently and Will who had found Elizabeth followed them in.
Jack Sparrow, a man who was feared, loved, and hated always seemed like he was confident in himself. There was nothing that could throw him off even if he never seemed to have a plan. But now in the glow of the candlelight of his cabin the captain seemed nervous.
Jack looked to his bed and there laid the most beautiful sight he thought his eyes would ever see. A woman about twenty three with long chestnut hair laid in his bed covered in a fine layer of sweat. She looked extremely exhausted. In her arms was a tiny bundle, Jack curiously made his way over to her. The girl and the pirate locked eyes both dark brown eyes and amazing blue shining in the candlelight. The love shining in both their eyes was something stronger and more amazing than anyone could describe.
The woman handed the small bundle to Jack and he uncovered it and the sight tightened his heart. It was a baby…his baby. Warm tears made their way down his cheeks, though he would never admit to it. The dark haired baby in his arms squirmed a little. He looked to the woman and kissed her forehead. "Isabelle 'ye did wonderful luv."
The baby cooed and opened its eyes displaying a beautiful set of dark eyes. Isabelle smiled warmly "It's a girl, Jack, and I want you to name her."
"I don't know why, but I've always liked the name Evangeline." He said rocking the baby with the sway of his precious Pearl. "Evangeline Sparrow" Isabelle said thoughtfully, "I love it."
Jack finally remembered the other people in his cabin watching this moment. He walked over to Gibbs and Will "Gentlemen, I would like to introduce you to or new little Miss Evangeline Sparrow." He announced proudly. "Congratulations Jack, she's beautiful" Will murmured stroking Evangeline's cheek. "Well Jack" Gibbs smirked "I never thought I'd see the day when Jack Sparrow would be a father… but I have 'ta say 'ye take to the role like a natural."
Jack chuckled and walked back over to Isabelle who had been watching him an Evangeline contently. He placed Evangeline in her mother's arms. Without notice Will, Elizabeth, and Gibbs crept silently out of the cabin, leaving Jack and his new family.
After had taken off his boots and laid on the bed Isabelle laid Evangeline between them, the sleeping baby looked at ease on the ship both of her parents called home. "Wait" Jack remembered suddenly and got off the bed leaving a confused Isabelle and a sleeping Evangeline. He returned a moment later sitting in the same spot.
Jack dangled something on a chain above the baby. It was a little gold locket; a black sparrow was on the front of the locket, flying free. "Jack, it's beautiful" Isabelle whispered. He put the locket beside Evangeline's tiny hand and she grasped it, even in her sleep. The small family laid in silence, outside the door though "It's a girl!" could probably be heard around the entire Caribbean. Jack, Isabelle and Evangeline fell sound asleep together and the locket Evangeline held in her small hand, she kept close to her heart the rest of her life.
