This is a poem i had to make up with a friend for an English assignment and i thought it turned out pretty good. I hope you enjoy it!

Love's A Waste

You say you love me,

But your eyes tell the lie

And the truth I can see

I thought it was an unbreakable tie

I try to erase the pain

Why can't you just let me in?

I stand out in the pouring rain

Washing away my sins

Alone and cold

Without a hope

Tears falling from my empty eyes

Love is just a waste of time

I sit in the dark

Hatred hanging in the air

The sun rises and I hear the morning lark

I can feel the tension tear

I try to smile, but it seems so fake

I have to go on with my day

Sometimes I think if I disappeared into a lake,

Would anyone care that I was the one to pay?

Alone and cold

Without a hope
