Not how I think it will actually play out, but a look at Hal slipping and Annie confronting. Hal/Annie friendship.
Disclaimer: I do not own Being Human, the characters, etc.
Every nerve in his body is tingling and his mind is so clear, so tuned in, that he feels he can take on the world. Then it comes. The euphoria. Like he could ride the wave out into forever so long as forever felt like this. The wave crashes, eventually.
His body betrays him. He feels frayed, itching, like he can't sit still or else he'll be consumed by the dull, ever present ache.
He wants it to end. He needs it to end.
But then she enters the room. She starts to say something but then she gets this look on her face.
"No." Her voice wavers, "Oh, no. Do not tell me that you've done what it is that I've think you've done."
"I'm sorry?"
"You have, haven't you." She backs away.
His secret is out, he knows. And that look on her face. "Annie-"
"Do not," she points a finger at him, "make excuses."
He doesn't need this. He doesn't need any of this. He used to have it all, he could have it all again.
But that look on her face. The disappointment. Because she cared about him.
He could have it all again, yes, and he would lose everything.
The family that he had built with Leo and Pearl. Wasted. The foundations he was building with Annie and Tom. Gone.
Hal looks up at her. "You have to help me."
For a moment he thinks that she's going to call for Tom to come stake him. But she doesn't. Instead she squares her shoulders. "You, Hal, are in a lot of trouble. But we are going to get through this." She nods, as though steeling herself, "we are, I promise."
