A/n: 'Justice' inspired this, so I had to write it lmao. This first fic features Gloria Rush, so yeah enjoy!
Summary: A series of one shots featuring Rush and his relationships with various people.
"Nicholas…" Gloria said trailing off from her hospital bed as she looked at her husband who was by her bedside. "I'm sorry…" she said with a weak voice. Her time was coming up.
Rush watched his wife speak weakly. He couldn't believe that this was happening. All of the advances in medicine and not one medicine could cure this disease. This cancer. He smiled as he held his wife's hand. "What are you sorry for?"
Gloria couldn't bear to look at her husband anymore. She closed her eyes as she felt her husband cling to her hand. These were her dying words. "I'm sorry that we didn't have any children, Nicholas" she managed to say. The breathing for her was getting difficult.
Rush watched as his wife close her eyes and say to him that she was sorry that she never gave them any children. He frowned a bit and kissed his wife on the forehead. "It's alright" he managed to say. He really wanted children, but this was life.
Gloria opened her eyes as her husband had kissed her on the forehead. She gave a weak smile. "It's time…" her voice began to be weaker than it was before. "I love you…" she said as she closed her eyes finally. The machines in the room started to go off. She had died.
Rush watched his wife beautiful eyes for the last time. He watched her reaction as she was taking her last words. Tears began to fall down his face. "Gloria…" he said as he slowly removed her motionless hand from his hand. "I love you also" he replied kissing her on the lips as he got up from her bedside. The machine started to flat line. His wife and best friend were gone.
He watched as the nurses came into the room and say, "Time of death, 12:01 AM"
So much for New Year's Day.
