It was the one day he didn't walk home from school with her. The one time he'd let her walk home alone. How could he have been so stupid?

Yamato pushed his legs as hard as they could go, riding his bike almost recklessly as he sped to Mei's apartment. When he heard about what happened his eyes had taken on an almost bloodthirsty tone and no one, not even Megu could stop him from leaving the studio.

The day before:

"Whaaaaaaa? Yamato you're gonna be a model?" Asami gushed when she heard the news, well, half of the news. Megu chimed in with her usual sweet tone.

"Mhm! Our studio needed another male model and my producer really liked him!"

Yamato, thoroughly uncomfortable with the situation tried to play it off like it was nothing.

"I'm just filling in, they seem to be in trouble and understaffed on male models so…" it was rare when he became shy but not too many people missed the pink in his cheeks as he spoke.

"Speaking of which, my boss needs to meet with you after school, are you free?"

Yamato hesitated "Well I usually walk home with Mei.." he looked at his girlfriend with a slight pleading in his eye. Sadly, due to denseness, or was she trying to be selfless? he wasn't sure, she'd given him a small smile and said she wouldn't mind it, they didn't need to walk home every day right?

Apparently that was wrong. Very wrong. Yamato wondered now, as he climbed the stairs to his girlfriend's apartment, if he'd ever forgive himself for what happened.
