Disclaimer: I do not own Pucca or any other trademarked stuff.
A/N: I blame Reneey and the Pucca short "Little Miss Sooga" for this fanfic. Because the beginning of the episode gave me the idea and she made me watch it and I wrote this and randomly forgot to upload it until now. XD
It was actually kind of challenging to write in this short, to-the-point style. If you've read anything else I've written, you probably realize short fics aren't something I do very well. XD But I tried to keep to the style of the show and I think it worked fairly well, but I guess y'all shall be the judges of that. :)

For the Honor
Garu had spent his life in a quest for honor. It was the most important thing to him, sometimes the one objective that kept him going. So, naturally, it was the main pursuit of his life – the greatest goal that he kept working toward.
Well, that and remaining the best ninja in Sooga village.
Oh, and hiding from Pucca.
Yeah, definitely hiding from Pucca.
So why exactly was Garu currently twitching slightly as he bought a bouquet of flowers from Santa Claus in Sooga square? Well, that was a funny story…
"Why do you constantly run from Pucca, Garu?" Master Soo had asked when he had randomly came riding down on a cloud from his palace for no apparent reason. Well, maybe there was a reason, but if so, he hadn't told Garu.
Garu, naturally, had blinked and tilted his head to one side but said nothing. Honestly, why did people ask him questions like they expected him to answer? Hadn't they figured out by now that he wouldn't?
"Don't you think you should let her know what you feel in return?" Master Soo went on. Maybe he wasn't expecting a verbal answer after all.
Garu had a quick mental image of Pucca as a fire-breathing dragon, chasing him through Sooga, around the world, into outer space, and to the far reaches of the universe. His eyes widened and he quickly shook his head.
"Really, you should do something about it," Soo said disapprovingly. "Unrequited love can be a great burden to bear – well, not that I would know personally, but I've heard."
At this point, both of the handmaidens floating along beside him giggled and planted a kiss upon his cheek. Garu twitched but still remained silent, and Master Soo frowned.
"Really, Garu, it would be the honorable thing to do…"
Those words resounded in Garu's head now as he headed for the Goh-Rong restaurant.
It would be the honorable thing to do…
Everything Garu did was for honor. It was the driving force behind his fighting, his meditation, his life. So how could he not listen to a plea for him to be honorable?
And as Pucca opened the door, her eyes went wide then filled with love (or at least little hearts that symbolized love, he guessed), Garu hoped that Master Soo was right.
The honorable thing, Garu…
And though honor was always the most important thing, Garu winced as Pucca tackled him and he was suddenly smothered in kisses. Of course, he always had to do that, or he wouldn't be Garu.
But maybe honor wasn't the only reason he had accepted Master Soo's challenge to do what would make Pucca happy.
