Elena sat on her bed, staring at the blinking cursor on her laptop. She flopped over on her bed and stared at her ceiling. "Come on Elena, think!" she thought to herself. "Maybe if I get some coffee it'll help me get rid of this stupid writers block", She wondered. She got off her bed and trudged down the hall of her apartment to her kitchen. After her coffee was finished, she turned on her ceiling light and closed the balcony door, fearing that the cold Chicago winter air would fill her warm apartment. She then continued to sit on her couch and flip through the help wanted ads in her newspaper. "No, no, no, no-"She stopped flipping pages when she saw one that said," Help wanted: Writer for new column in newspaper". "Yes!" she thought. "Finally, a job opportunity!". Ever since she moved out of Mystic Falls after graduating, she had wanted a writing job, but could never find one- until that night.

The next morning she jumped out of bed and got ready for the interview speedy quick. She drove downtown and saw a big help wanted sign in front of a small office space. She walked in and went to the front desk. "Hi I'm Elena Gilbert. I'm here for the job interview with umm…". She looked in her purse for the newspaper and read off the name. " Stefan Salvatore". As soon as the name left her lips, she gave a confused look to the paper. "Why did that name sound so familiar?" She thought to herself. The receptionist then replied back," His office is on the 3rd door to your right".
