Sorry. This ended up getting made while "The Voices of the Wind" is currently waiting for a good chapter idea. I recently started watching the Moomins! I can't help but ship these two. I hate don't like Snork Maiden.
It was another summer afternoon in Moomin Valley, and Snufkin and his friend, Moomin, were relaxing by the river…
"Snufkin, do you ever need to tell a secret that someone told you?" Moomin looked over at his friend, who was lying on the grass with his hat over his face. Snufkin shifted in the grass and removed his hat from his face and looked over at Moomin. "Oh… I suppose I do sometimes. When you know lots of things and someone tells you a secret, your brain could overflow. You have to make room for more stuff by telling secrets occasionally." Snufkin looked up at the sky and moved to sit up properly.
Moomin moved with him, and they were both sitting upright in the grass now. "Hey, Snufkin?" Moomin glanced up at his friend, his eyes questioning. "Can I tell you one of my secrets?" Snufkin chuckled and nodded at Moomin. "Okay… Here I go." Moomin took a deep breath and looked away towards the water. "Snork Maiden loves me a lot, which is okay I guess. But… I don't think I love her the same way."
Snufkin wasn't expecting this, so he stayed silent for a moment or two. Moomin spoke again, looking back up at Snufkin. "Now you tell me one of yours, please?" Snufkin simply looked over to the setting sun. "Or… Do you even have secrets?" Snufkin glanced at his friend. "Of course I do Moomin, but most of them aren't any good to tell anyone." Moomin looked back at the water. "Oh… Then what about one of the ones that are good?" Silence.
Almost two minutes passed until Moomin gave up trying to learn a secret from Snufkin. "Moomin! Oh Moomin, come in for supper!" That was Moomin Mama calling. Moomin stood up and turned towards the house. "I'm coming mama!" Moomin looked back at Snufkin who was preparing to go fishing. Without a second thought, Moomin bent down and pecked Snufkin's cheek and ran off towards the house for supper.
Snufkin was not expecting that at all. His eyes widened slightly and his face grew a light shade of red. He brought his hand to his cheek and smiled to himself. 'I suppose that one shouldn't wait any longer. I think I'll tell him a secret tomorrow morning.' Snufkin stood and turned around, then crossed the bridge to his tent. With one last glance at Moomin house in the fading sunlight, he smiled. "Same to you, Moomin."
Bad ending is bad. I'm not the best writer. I know. It's just a crummy one-shot!
