~Prologue~
Gentle breeze blowing, and the sun casting wonderful glows, two figures stood before the vast sea. Both had dark brown hair—one lighter than the other's—and the same captivating hazel orbs. Together, they stared at the breathtaking scenery; enjoying one another's company.
The girl lightly clutched her white summer hat as a gust of wind blew, making the decours on it gracefully dance. She smiled contentedly, inhaling the sea's fresh yet salty air.
"Kaname," she called out, turning to face him fully; her silky, white summer dress which matches her hat swayed against the breeze.
The aforementioned male muttered a 'hm?' in response as he, too, turned to face his beloved. He gave her a heartwarming smile which never failed to make her breathing hitch.
He was beautiful, too much that she felt unworthy of him. Those strands of dark brown hair that seemed to shine under the light, and those hazel eyes that bores into one's soul; she thought and knew that she would never be his equal. But he always assured her that he was nothing without his goddess; that he couldn't be Adonis without his lovely Aphrodite, and that made her happy.
"I. . ." the girl hesitated, biting her lower lip and brows knitting in anxiety. She took a couple of deep breaths in attempt to calm herself, boring her honest hazel orbs in his as she forced the words to come out. "Promise me. . .Promise me one thing."
"I will; for your sake, Yuuki," Kaname said, bending slightly forward to match her height; wanting to lose himself in those eyes he loved. Kaname caressed her cheek lightly, straightening up as he enveloped Yuuki in his arms. He rested his chin on the crown of her head, awaiting and encouraging his beloved to continue.
Yuuki buried her face on his chest, hugging him back tightly as tears threatened to spill from her eyelids. She gripped the back of his white long-sleeve shirt, leaving a crease the moment she let go. Yuuki could feel the fabric of Kaname's black trousers as he pulled her closer to him— not too much to cause discomfort.
Finally having the courage to continued, she pushed Kaname back slightly to stare in his worried orbs; hands both resting on his chest. Yuuki smiled at him warily, sadness evident in them, "Promise me that we'll cross paths again someday. . ."
Squeezing the brunette's arm lightly, Kaname nodded. Deep down he knew that this day would come; that they would part ways. No matter how painful it was, he had to let her go.
. . .For their sake. . .
"Even if we part, our hearts are still connected. We'll meet again. . .I promise," Kaname said, smiling in both affection and despair. This might be a farewell for now, but he knew time would come where fate would bind them together again.
They would, surely, because. . .
. . .They made a promise of eternity.
A/N- So, what do you think? (: It's a bit short for a prologue, but I promise that I'll write the next chapters longer.
