Ryo, Asuka, and Their Way

Ryo Marufuji never likes crowded places. His reputation as the Kaiser, though, didn't help him a single bit, as he'll end up followed by his admirers, boys and girls alike. Thus, whenever he got the chance, he'll sneak up to his favorite spot: The lighthouse.
Ryo only realized that this lighthouse is such a nice spot during his last year on the academia; not much people came here even for simply enjoying the scenery. And even now, when the Academia held a grand reunion, he still believes that the lighthouse remains the same; calm, peaceful, and relaxing. That's why instead of trying to blend with the crowd, he decided to spend his time alone.
Except that actually, he's not really alone. Even back then, someone else would usually with him there. Most of the time, they would discuss about duels. Sometimes, they would have a practice battle. And on rare occasions, they would simply enjoy their lunch together. That's what made the lighthouse even more special. And this time too, he sure that person is already there.
Upon arriving, Ryo immediately recognizes her, simply by the same long, sporadic blonde hair. She looked quite different wearing the Academia's teacher outfit, but somehow he's pretty sure it's her.
"Asuka." Ryo called. The young woman, Asuka Tenjoin, turns around and smiled upon seeing him.
"It's been awhile, Ryo." She greets back. "I assume you got uncomfortable with the crowd and went all the way here like usual?"
"Yeah. In the end, I still can't blend with so many people." He replied, earning a chuckle from Asuka. "So, what are you doing here?"
Asuka fell silent for a moment before she replies, "Nothing in particular. It's just… I know you will come here."
"Oh…" was his only reply.
"Say, Ryo… Do you mind if we have a duel here? You know, like we usually did back then…" Her request prompted a chuckle from Ryo. "W, what's so funny?" Asuka blushed slightly.
"Nothing." Ryo regained his composure. "I just have the feeling things will end like this. But, well…" He took out his duel disk. "I don't mind, actually…" Asuka's eyes lit up before Ryo continued, "Since this is the only way I can think to convey my true feelings."
"R, Ryo…" Asuka turned beet red before she slightly lower her head. "I guess the same is true for me, too."
"We'll continue this later. Now, shall we?" Ryo smiled.
"Yeah." Asuka replied, now determination in her eyes.
"Tenjoin!"
"Marufuji!"
"Let us have ourselves a fun duel!"
