phoenix wright was attending a science show in los angeles it showed lots of crazy machines that would be used soon in the future and one of them was a big clock with a big hole in it that had been made by the scientist named brown

he eventually landed in 1800 and saw a japanese man in black and a guy in a coat their names were ryunosuke naruhodo and sherlock holmes who phoenix did not know at all but he knew sherlocks name so he could trust them
using sherlocks magic brain they recreated the crime scene phoenix saw perfectly including the locked door so sherlock used reasoning to conclude the victim killed himself and ryunosuke used joint reasoning to conclude the victim was murdered by the knife but phoenix didnt see anyone else that was when they realised that the killer never existed in that time meaning the killer killed the man without stepping into the time he died in
phoenix ryunosuke and sherlock returned to the present that is phoenixs present and phoenix accused dr brown of murdering the victim because he wa the one who used the time machine, the truth was he stabbed a knife into the time machine and turned it on while the time machine was positioned where the man was standing so as the knife travelled to the past it went inside the man stabbing and killing him
brown said the knife in his time had no prints cause he wiped it off but the knife they found in the past wasnt wiped cause he lost it so he confessed
