Drakken jumped to his feet, his blue hands losing their grips on his beakers and dropping them onto the floor. Even as a plume of smoke raised, Drakken ran to the kitchen from whence he'd heard an explosion come that he hadn't made.
As the smoke cleared, Drakken's heart warmed. Shego stood, in all her dangerous beauty, glowering at the smoking hole in the wall where their oven had been. Green still tinged her pale white fists. Shego's dark eyes fell to a spot before her feet, and Drakken noticed a tray of burned . . . He squinted as he peered closer at the blackened things.
"Shego?" He tried to hide the grin her frustrated growl spawned. He quickly changed tactics. "Are these for me?" he asked hopefully, walking over and picking up the cupcakes. "They look . . . " He trailed off as he searched for a better word to describe the black cupcakes.
Shego sighed. "I tried . . . "
Drakken put the tray on the table and pulled her into his arms. "I know, but, Shego, you don't have to cook to make me happy. You do that already, just by being you. I love you." He sealed his words with a kiss so passionate that it melted her fiery fury and ignited a different kind of fire.
"I love you too," she murmured against his lips. She grinned, gazing up into his eyes. "And I'll stick to cooking where I'm good at it from now on."
"Where's that?"
"The bedroom." She kissed him again.
The End
Red Velvet Cupcakes
Ingredients:
1 box Duncan Hines red velvet cake mix
1 French vanilla pudding box
1 can of cream cheese frosting
1. Mix pudding mix, red velvet cake mix, and any other ingredients the cake mix's box calls for. Pour batter by spoonfuls into cupcake papers sat in a cupcake or muffin pan.
2. Bake at 350 F until a toothpick inserted into the middle of the cake comes out clean. This will take just a little longer than the cake mix's box indicates.
3. When cupcakes are cooled enough for handling, spread cream cheese frosting over their tops. Use 2 cans if you like a lot of frosting as Jack and I do. :-)
Author's Note: If you enjoyed this story, or any of my other writings, I hope you'll consider joining my friends and I at a brand new fan fic/art site called Ficcers Unite. At Ficcers Unite, we welcome all fandoms, pairings (slash and het), and even no pairings at all; hope to begin a Marvel/Disney RPG soon; and plan on issuing challenges every day of the week! We currently only have one day when a new challenge is not posted and hope to fill that position soon. Disney/Marvel challenges are posted on Mondays and last the week (as do all the other challenges too). Come on over and check us out at today!
